Commentators agree the OK-TN game is a huge indicator of how the playoff season could shake out. They said either team could propel themselves into the talk with a win but they believe an Oklahoma win could put you guys on the road to the final four. They are also picking you to win the game. I agree... just think we are a year or 2 away.

Yeah, you all got some key injuries for sure, and I wish I were as confident as the talking heads.

Appreciate your candor BTW.

Jake, that's the same story I get from my bud in Johnson City...."we are still a year away"...but he is the one that pressed our bet this year. He didn't offer last year and I didn't press it because I knew we had the perceived advantage in the ranking. So I do appreciate the fact that Tennessee probably knows more about their team than us Sooners know what kind of team we will have. Really, we won't have a clue until we play Tennessee. That is a big, big game for us, and I think its going to be a great game. I hope its as good, exciting and with the same results as our 1968 Orange Bowl game against the Vols. 26-24 Sooners. Keep posting. I like you already.

I don't see a game that is 2 weeks into the season as putting either team on the road to a playoff or how the rest of the season will play out. Both teams have plenty of tough games to play the remainder of the season. A win for either team would be a great building block for the rest of the season, but it could also be a distant memory by the end of the season depending how things go.

Well it all hinges on our OL development. We recruited some studs including Drew Richmond out of Memphis. Pried him away from Ole Miss at the last minute...the weeping and wailing in Oxfurd is still heard. While these guys are all 4* and 5* they are still puppies. I expect great growth this year just don't think they will be experienced enough to handle the Sooners. Now lets go back a year to the game in Norman. It was 27-10 late in the 3rd and we are driving Worley throws into triple coverage in the end zone and you guys get a pick 6. If we score it is 27-17 going into the 4th. Our D which will be stout this year and dominant next was starting to stop you guys. Now I am not saying we beat you last year but in football as you guys very well know it is a game of momentum. Many in our camp feared it would be a 3 or 4 td deficit at that point but we were hanging tough. I am hopeful for the game in Knoxville but OU is a year older and much more deep than we are now...and much more experienced.

It will be huge...for you guys a step towards setting yourself up in position...for us to see if we are back in "big boy" football again.

No you didn't have to mention that game...I can still see Eddie Hinton running over us in the 1st half and Kremser's FG sailing wide right that would have given us the win...I was 7 years old and remember it like it was yesterday.
