My first born officially becomes a second generation Wildcat today. Lots of mixed emotions will flow today. I'm so excited for her and her future. I know she will have a great time in college.

But I'm also sad to see my baby girl move out. She's such a joy to all of us. For those of you who know her story you know what a blessing and miracle it is that she is still with us to go to college.

So many things to be excited about and so many new things to worry about. All we can do at this point is let her go and fly on her own.

So for all the other parents doing the same thing this month I wish you good luck, to those who've gone before us thanks for showing us it can be done and to those who have yet to reach this stage enjoy every second you have them at home!

I recall you telling her story here, TruBlu. Very happy for you, and for her, to be able to enjoy this moment. Congrats to both of you. And to Mrs TruBlu as well.

I think some of you should volunteer to help Trumpet cat move.

I was shocked when I got to college with an alarm clock, blankets, pillow, and clothes. I realized I did not have or need what so many did. Especially girls. They had U-Hauls.

LOL. It's true. We had two vehicles filled and I wasn't a happy camper because of the amount of stuff. Then we got to campus and I saw every other girl had just as much or more. :joy:

First month is crucial and will determine how the next 4 years go. Make friends fast.

Not sure of the story behind her but congrats to you. I have a 4yr old and I can only imagine how I'm going to be when she is leaving for college. Dreading that day.

So you can imagine being broken hearted, financially drained, tired from working extra hours or even another job....but that's all part of being "Dad". My wife and I got 4 through college. Last one just graduated. No more tuition, no more "Oh yeah, Dad, they didn't tell me about the $1492 due last Tuesday for the......." We feel like we just got a pay raise.

Enjoy!

Hope your daughter isn't going to WVU.. Here's their move-in day.

Meanwhile, I'm shaving my facial hair and heading straight to Morgantown the second I get out of work.

Same here; class of '86. Haggin, Greg Page, then off campus.

Taking my daughter on Friday; part of me wishes she would have gone to a local school and stayed at home.

BTW, the New Haggin is slightly nicer than the Old Haggin lol.

A cardboard box soaked in urine would have been nicer than the old Haggin Hall. Woulda smelled similar anyways.

College move in week where I work. Bittersweet. The down side is all the extra traffic. The upside is a lot of 18-20 yo girls in short-shorts & tight dresses. I'm also starting to notice some milfs around too.
