However the Iowa game and BTT turns out for us- and in the probability an NIT invite doesn't materialize our team has earned a chance to compete post-season. Open up the pocketbook and get us to the CBI. CC and the team have done NU proud the last month or so overcoming the devastating close losses making up the 10 game losing streak, creating a new defensive identity and never and I repeat never throwing in the towel. Let's reward the effort!!

we can be a part of the ground-breaking research that the CBI is enabling with a 30 second shot clock for this year's tournament!

The 30-second shot clock would probably work to our favor with the zone defense we play. It takes time for teams to break down the zone with passes, and a lot of the teams we have played have not been getting good shots until very late in the shot clock.

My argument for ANY tournament

Practice time!!!

If I'm correct about my NCAA rules (and I'm not sure I am AT ALL), I don't believe the coaches and players can come together for practice after your last game. For a group this young, every minute of practice is worth the price of a tournament.

Now, help me with CBI timing. Does it coincide with ncaa tourney, or is it the week after? I feel like the CBI starts later. The ncaa tourney, unless schedules have changed, starts during NU's spring break.

Then again, students don't go to games anyway, so why would it matter?

This does seem like a year when making an exception and going to the CBI would make sense.

Last year, the first round of the CBI was played on the Tuesday and Wednesday that the NCAA tourney had the play-in games. So roughly the same as the NIT.

That's an excellent point. If they ever put in the 30 second shot clock, it'll turn into less than that it's the death of zone in college.
