What cable modem should I purchase? I'm tired of paying the $8 a month fee to TWC, so I'm returning it and purchasing my own.

I already have a pretty decent router, so I don't need a modem/router. Just a modem. Need one that is reliable, and an easy install for simpletons like myself.

TIA

I bought the cheapest one at Wal-Mart (~$40) and it works fine for my 30 meg internet.

There is an apporved list.

The best modem with least problems that works best with time warner is the motorolla surfboard.

The Docsis 3 - for better speeds.

The model is SBG 6580 has wifi

Model SB 6121 doesnt have wifi.

Pretty much, you will have problems, because TWC sucks ****, but those are the best.

Once you get it, you will have to call so they can upload a new boot file to the modem. Reconfigure it, takes 5 minutes once you are talking to them. Specifically ask for tier 3 when you call, it will put you right through.

2nd the Motorola SB's... Modems are pretty much standard. Almost everyone will agree on the Surfboard. The Router is more up for debate.
