In fact, as he bases his stats on the four years before and after the switch, those stats contribute exactly nothing to the argument for patience. What they show is that other teams have in fact, "rise[n] to their new levels of competition." in the 4 year period in which we haven't.
The one fair observation one could make is that moving to the ACC is probably easier than to any other conference. Excluding Miami, whose problems have little to do with the conference switch, the ACC teams take all the top spots.
