Should be sky high for the team:
A true road win vs a top 10 team and a perennial power.
Down 16 at the half.
Starting point guard, and in my opinion the team’s most important player, out with an injury.
Back up point guard goes out.
Your 3 slides to point.

But most importantly, the players should have great confidence in their coach.

Agree. But I would go a little further in regard to Gonzaga. I think Gonzaga was the best team in the Country (until tonight :) ) and UK just beat them essentially on the road.

I know my confidence in this team is high right now. In recent years, games this close I expected Kentucky would find a way to come up short of a comeback or blow it if they were ahead with Cal. Even though they were down most of the game, that feeling was not there once they cut that lead down under 10. I had a gut feeling they were going to find a way to win as hard as they fought back stunning the Zags with the in-game adjustments they had absolutely no answer for. Threw them for a loop. Kentucky kept playing their game and pulled out the win.

Something different with this team. Not to sound cliche, but Mark Pope is that difference. Having a real coach on the sidelines knowing UK will actually have a chance to win these games is a breath of fresh air after the stench around the program for years. Not clinging on to some false hope but knowing Kentucky Basketball is back to being relevant beating 2 Top 10 schools in the non-conference is such a great feeling.

Any chance we could ride in ranking on Monday? Close loss at Clemson because we played bad and PG with injury. Massive turnaround in the second half vs Gonzaga.

If we were Duke or North Carolina yes.
Kentucky, we will be fortunate to stay #4, which is where I would rank us.

I don't know where mine is, frankly.

I'm thrilled with the win, but honestly didn't think we played good at all for most of the game. We gave tons of effort and played hard, but not real good, IMO.

But... coming away with a win against a top team with key player(s) out when you didn't play well is impressive. And it bodes well for the future of this team.
