Your conference has almost officially been eliminated from the college football playoff. The Big 12 is down to Texas and Baylor as the only teams still in the running.

Gosh hard to know who to root for. Personally I want to cheer for OU but that's not best for the Huskers.
Or is it best for the Huskers? There seems to be a movement to make OU a press juggernaut so the 12 has some props to get into the playoffs. Ohio State was unfairly left out so OU could get its rear kicked last year; need an 8 team playoff. And I really like Coach Stoops. GBR

Ohio State won in 2014, but lost one game in Week 2.

Alabama has lost two straight to Ole Miss, but played in CFP twice, won in 2015.

OU made CFP last year, but lost to sub-.500 Texas.

One loss doesn't make season, especially early.

OU needs win over OSU this week!

Oklahoma isn't out of it. They beat Ohio State and they have a great shot. The game is in Norman, you never know.

I agree they aren't out of it, but the Big 12 powers that be, probably have to hope that OU isn't the conference champs. If Houston goes undefeated, and OU is Big 12 champs, they could be left out in the cold, as how could you leave Houston out over OU?

OU IMO has to hope the cougars stumble against the 'ville, and I don't see that happening, barring major injuries.

I wouldn't want to be Texas's opponent in the Big12 if they continue to be undefeated and one of the of the only chances for CFP contender from the Big12 (cough, cough...officials)

I think OSU will lose in Norman. The Sooners may have a shot at the playoff but it's gonna be hard if Houston finishes undefeated. Maybe I should pull for the Buckeyes this weekend but I just can't stand Urban Meyer! Ugh

The difference here is that these teams , Alabama and Oklahoma were already considered relavant to the national picture and were rated highly as a result .

Nebraska used to be in that conversation , be it many years ago, but not anymore . Losing to Oregon just confirms we are still on the outside as others have deemed .

Neither OU or TCU is out of it. Even Oklahoma St is still in it. If they were to run the table and everyone knows they should have won the CMU game, they'll still have a good shot.
