Does anyone believe tat 2 (two) non contributors to Auburns team, made a plane return back to the tarmac?

I mean… the plane would have diverted to the closest airport. Auburn likely contracts WheelsUp or NetJets so it’s out of Auburns hands if the plane turns around or not. Purely the pilots call if the situation dictates a diversion and land as soon as practical/possible.

I would bet it’s FAA guidelines. Flights have been turned around for passengers arguing with fight attendants.

I think the accusation being made here isn’t that the plane shouldn’t have turned around, but that Auburn picked out a couple of unimportant players to be fall guys for an incident that might have also involved some key contributors. That wouldn’t be totally implausible, but it’s impossible to say that’s actually what happened with the information we have. Any players fighting could have caused the same response regardless of their status on the team.

The atc recording I heard, they were cleared to climb to 5000ft. So they had literally just taken off so obviously they would land at the same airport.

Exactly. Thats kind of my point. It doesn’t matter if it’s the team managers or the star players….the pilots are making the call to turn back to the nearest airport with any major conflict or disruption in the cabin.

Now if it’s a business man in his personally owned plane with a pilot that he is directly paying… then there’s more room for him to be like “I don’t care, keep flying”. But I was just saying this wasn’t an Auburn decision to turn back and “they wouldn’t had turned back for 2 non contributors”
