To Notre Dame. Would have been nice to have him, but the ‘Cats will go into battle with who they have.
Thought he was requesting a waiver, but turns out he would not have been eligible until 2020, so would not have helped us this year..To Notre Dame. Would have been nice to have him, but the ‘Cats will go into battle with who they have.
Recent Milton recruits don't seem to hold NU in such high esteem - Justin Yoon, Kalel Mullings, Cormac Ryan were all heavily recruited by NU but ultimately went elsewhere. Small sample size but perhaps the admissions department might need to work on some branding for us.
They ended up at Notre Dame and Michigan. Not like they picked State U.
You missed the point.
This is a surprise ! With a name like Cormac Ryan, I thought he was a lock for YeshivaTo Notre Dame. Would have been nice to have him, but the ‘Cats will go into battle with who they have.
Yes you did miss the point. No I did not. Admissions branding wouldn’t have made a lick of difference.
Lol.This is a surprise ! With a name like Cormac Ryan, I thought he was a lock for Yeshiva
Continuing at another top academic institution and playing the NCAA Tournament were the objectives and I guess criterion #2 seemed more likely to him at ND. NU was his second choice the first time around, after Stanford.
Yep. And losing money doing it.But… but… how is ND still a top academic institution when they *also* regularly let in football and basketball players with mediocre-to-bad grades? Surely it’s destroyed the school’s academic profile! And sullied their reputation to the point where top student-athletes like Cormac don’t want to go there!
NU just keeps playing itself![]()
Right! Ugh. To me, it so simple. If you’re an NU fan who doesn’t want to change our current setup, watch March Madness. Whenever someone takes over a game, ask yourself “could he even get into NU?” Realize 95% of the best players can’t. Then realize the other 5% won’t bother considering us. Then accept that we either make the effort to compete or go to the Patriot League (bc no matter what the snobs say, the Ivy doesn’t see us as equal and they’ll never expand to accept us)Yep. And losing money doing it.
Ryan back to earth today in their loss to Texas Tech ... 9 pts on 3-8 shooting (2-6 from 3), 1-3 free throws, 0 assists, 2 turnovers.Career high 29 for Ryan today, about 40 hours after a double-overtime win. NU could’ve used a guy capable of making 7-of-9 threes on the game’s biggest stage.
They played 3 games in six days. Bound to happen.Ryan back to earth today in their loss to Texas Tech ... 9 pts on 3-8 shooting (2-6 from 3), 1-3 free throws, 0 assists, 2 turnovers.
The biggest hurdle, I would think, is that NU would be a geographical outlier. The Ivies are all concentrated near the East Coast. Then accept that we either make the effort to compete or go to the Patriot League (bc no matter what the snobs say, the Ivy doesn’t see us as equal and they’ll never expand to accept us)
I disagree. The biggest hurdle, I would think, is that NU would be a geographical outlier. The Ivies are all concentrated near the East Coast.
Perhaps, if NU could convince UChicago to join them as a travel partner, it would make more sense. (Would Chicago consider jumping from DIII to the Ivies?)
