The U.S. Air Force has flown half a million coronavirus testing swabs from Italy to Tennessee, the branch’s top general revealed Wednesday.
Gen. David Goldfein told reporters at swabs landed in Memphis on Monday. They were transported across the Atlantic on an Air Force C-17 cargo plane and now will be distributed around the country, people familiar with the mission told Defense One.

I found the article and am surprised Italy would be shipping kits out given their own situation. They must have significant excess. Another article talking about the calamity in Italy said:

“In one small town near Venice, where aggressive testing and retesting was employed — even of people with NO symptoms — coupled with contact tracing and strict quarantines, the spread of the virus was completely stopped, showing that South Korea’s approach can be applied in other countries with great success.”

Until Trump cut regulations are hands were tied. Now private companies are pumping them out. Italy didn't have those regulations.
