Could Purdue fans be worse than IU fans?

They are the so called elite school in Indiana. They think IU is trash.
They're no worse than any other fans. They'll be a very good team. I'm sure they wanted to come into Rupp and prove they were deserving of that #1 ranking. Probably stings a little bit, that they were beaten so easily, which explains the sour grapes of that particular fan.
“They hit a bunch of lucky shots” is the hallmark statement of someone who doesn’t know ball.
Purdue fans I saw at Rupp, and there were many, last night didn't seem bad at all. Didn't experience any negative talk from them or attitudes. Every fan base, including us, has some bad fans who will say stupid stuff. But Purdue would have to go a long way to top how horrible and stupid IU fans are.
Yeah, I wouldn't put them ahead of Indiana or Louisville fans. UK did make some tough shots, but under Pope, that's normal. And it's not like UK hasn't gotten any respect. The Cats are ranked in the top 10 preseason and were playing at home. It should have been a tough game for Purdue, and it was. UK should have been a good opponent, and they were. The Cats were missing their starting point guard and potentially a starting power forward and still won handily. Not impressed? Well, I'd say it says just as much about Purdue as UK. So, disrespect UK and it all comes right back on you, because the game really wasn't that close.
Both teams could have shot better. But we shot bad and still won by double digits. Up by as much as 17.
Exhibitions are exhibitions. But no reasonable person would feel better about Purdue over Kentucky after watching that game.

I think their point is well taken. Neither of the teams on the floor is close to what we can expect in March. We were playing without 40% of our starting rotation with guys that haven’t played together before. We are not close to what we can be. Purdue didn’t bring their A game. Not sure they brought their D game either. They made little to no effort on team defense.
I suspect we’ll see them again before this is over At that time, no excuses either way. I like our chances.

Purdue has some of the best fans. That Twitter guy just has terrible takes.
You do realize that other fanbases take screenshots of the lunatics on RR and share them around talking about how awful and insane Kentucky fans are, right?
Take it from an old guy that remembers...they were turds when they were relevant too.
The only thing Purdue impressed me on was the free-throw shooting which they had ample opportunity to show off
While IUsed to be is definitely worse than them right now, the fact Purdue thinks they are the better basketball school is delusional. They have NOTHING to stand on. Literally. They have no titles.
That's Purdue's standard defense. They have always not been great at it. Painter is an offensive guy.

I can only recall one shot I would consider lucky (Noah’s banked 3), and a whole bunch of good shots that didn’t drop for the Cats. My impression was if we had been slightly better in that department, and didn’t give up some of the silly late layups when things were on cruise control, we probably win by 20+, even without some of our best players.
That ungodly layup by JJ near the end was pretty lucky. Or maybe he's just that good. Don't know yet.
I still don't know how it went in, and even as a bona fide member of BBN that shot had no business going in. But it did. Nice to see it happen for us, instead of against us like it always seems to.
I’ve been to a couple of IU with opposing fans and I’ve never seen their fans act hostile like they do against UK. They just hate us and Purdue
Yeah, I saw the opposite. Purdue is a veteran team, UK hasn't played together for the most part. I saw us miss a few bunnies and take several ill advised shots that we missed. The only lucky shot I remember was Noah's banked 3
We are just a bad match up for Purdue. Too much speed and depth vs a half court team with little depth. They are a good team who will be a top 10 team. They will have trouble with us if we play again
Purdue fans are angels compared to Indiana fans, imo…I have seen some pretty outrageous behavior at basketball games, albeit, embarrassing from IU fans, but I suppose that there are bad actors in all fan bases….
Don’t disagree but normally they can at least take away the paint and baseline. Nobody was risking bodies. I wasn’t certain if they were playing defense or landing planes at times.
That isn't that SmokyPearl or whatever that used to post here that had a daughter play in the WNBA or something and turned out to be a troll (anti UK)? Was supposed to be a Purdue and UK fan.

I took classes at Purdue back in the Dark Ages. Not a fan, but I've always kept in touch.

I don’t think this goober is anywhere as bad as Smoky, who turned completely against UK and was even going to any and all UL boards to trash us. He had deeply serious emotional problems.
Been around a few they don’t seem to be bad at all. Bad fanbases are UT, UL, Auburn etc. It’s usually the Jr fanbases. UT Jr, Alabama Jr, Kentucky Jr. Indiana is basically the Jr nowadays too compared to Purdue in many ways so then too.
