The case of Nigel Williams-Goss, the Zags PG, is an interesting one.
Out of HS he was a McDonald's AA, with many offers mostly from the PAC12. Stanford was among the offers, indicating that he was a strong student who likely would have satisfied NU's entrance standards. He also got an offer from Harvard. However, no offer from NU is listed. He would have been recruited initially by NU's previous admin, and would have joined the program in 2013, CC's first year.
He started his college career playing for the Wash Huskies. He played a lot immediately, achieving leading-scorer status by his second year. Somewhat strangely, he decided to transfer after his soph year. OhSU was one of the possible destinations, but again, no mention of NU. He eventually transferred to cross state rival Gonzaga. This is his first season, after sitting out a year.

No idea if at any point he was contacted by NU, while in HS, or after he announced his decision to transfer. Might potentially have been a good fit, although PG is not the position of greater need at NU.
