Couple thoughts/yearly reminder on ACC Champions

First off, there is technically no ACC Regular Season champion. Cheats can cut down nets/talk about a championship all till their face turn wussy blue. Fact is, ACC bylaws state the ACC Champion is the tournament champion: no more, no less. Plus, add in the fact that schedules are complete unbalanced, IMHO, the champion being the Tournament winner is the most fair.

1. Unless something drastic like UVA loses in the ACC Quarters, they are a lock for Columbia. Which means Cheats OR Duke will get Columbia, but not both. So, IMHO, Duke and Cheats are separated for the first two rounds!

2. IMHO, if Williamson comes back and looks impressive, and we win the ACC Tournament, we are a lock for the second one seed at worst. The committee should look at the losses without Zion as almost not happening...

I don’t think they can completely ignore the losses with Zion out, but should he come back and we win the ACCT then I think, rightfully so, it’s going to be heavily weighted to our advantage.

IMO, we win the ACCT with Zion we’re for sure a #1 seed, and quite possibly, #1 overall.

They cannot completely ignore it for sure, but if we were 26-5 and 12-4 without key players for games, they cannot deny that Duke would most likely have a better record had Zion not gotten hurt.

If Zion plays Friday and Duke beats UNC by 10+ then I think that speaks volumes about how much he means to the team.

If Duke loses Thursday then they’re probably the last 2 seed. Good thing that’s not going to happen.

I hated losing to the Cheats last night (because the winner of that game usually goes farther in the NCAA Tournament, though that comes with a huge asterisks).

But losing last night means we’ll probably play Syracuse instead of Louisville. For Zion’s first game back, I’d take that matchup in a heartbeat. Hopefully AOC can catch fire again and we can rest our starters for UNC.
