He has played nearly every snap of the first 2 games at the strongside inside linebacker postion and has 7 solo tackles. In the 3-4 defense that is the position of your "run stopper" and should be your leading tackler. Jordan Jones has nearly 3x that many tackles from the weak side. Love seems to be a step slow, gets caught up in traffic, and lacks instinct. I know Kash is a true freshman but if he played Love's snaps i think he would have more tackles than 7.

I agree. I think Landon Young looked good when he came in too. Time to play the talent

Stoops and Eliot kept telling us how Love was this and that but no one sat back and asked why Love was transferring from a mediocre Nebraska team because of a lack of playing time.

His main problem is he is slow to find the ball. Then he gets blocked too easily for a MLB.

Those 2 deficiencies are hard to overcome in a defense that relies on the MLB to be the main tackler. It would be worse, but Jones is a beast and definitely has all the intangibles needed to play LB.

I always wondered that too. Trusted Stoops - at the time.

And now you know why Love transferred from Nebraska. It also provides a glimpse into Marrow's ability to evaluate talent.

I think they kept harping on Love's leadership and usually stopped short of saying he was a great football player. They moved Laster to that position for a reason, but I don't think he QBed the defense well enough. And, Kash is the future. I suspect he is not ready to lead. Athleticism and passion are only part of the equation. I think he needs to have a full command of the defense. Kash is definitely the future.

Love has been a major disappointment.

Also does anyone recall the 3 TEs the coaching staff bragged about? We need to get search teams out they are MIA
During the off-season we heard a lot about Love's leadership ability in team workouts, etc. He was sufficiently well-regarded by Stoops to go to SEC media days. The pre-season hype for Love is not matching what we're seeing on the field.

Most of your transfers are not going to be guys who are first team. Most of them are going to be guys who never get to play and their is good reasoning on to why that is.

Tell that to UL and a bunch of other football teams that refute that conclusion.

Stoops has mislead the fans going into the past two seasons, at least, with a bunch of false hope. I thought it might be true this time though, because they had a little experience to go with the talent. But, they've never looked worse. I said this in another thread but the offseason hype is downright insulting. They're either incredibly stupid & truly believe what they say or they're flat out lying to the fans. I understand coach-speak & that they're never gonna tell you how good OR bad it really is. But, you can't build up everyone's hopes & expectations & then be THIS bad.

I've talked to Courtney and he seems like a good guy, but the OP nailed it, he has no instincts. It's time to start Kash.

Stoops kept hyping this team up all preseason too. I know for a fact that Stoops knows what good football is, he coached at FSU. What was he seeing?

Love is flat footed, doesn't have a good instinct for the ball, and just isn't very good.

Towles at BC.

And also a QB. Nobody has mentioned all these successful LB's, DL etc who are transfers.
Like I stated QB's were born to transfer. Only 1 plays and you have 5 on the roster with more coming in. Your going to have QB's transferring all the time. We have had quite a few transfer from here. A lot of them will even switch positions to wide receiver, DB, TE or what ever depending on his skill set.

Do you think if Kash was better in practice he would be playing over Love. Apparently there is something amiss in practice.
We talking practice.
