Yet I believe that Florida had the longest winning streak going back to last season until they lost last week.

I don’t think Florida would hire Franklin. His rep is not being able to win the big games. They aren’t looking for 9-3 or 10-2 seasons in the SEC.

He seemed to hold his own pretty well in the SEC at Vandy with a far less talented roster than Florida’s. Besides Spurrier and Meyer, Florida has had a lot of coaches that couldn’t win the big ones. Zook, Muschamp, McIlwain, Mullen, Napier.

Boy, I really don’t wan‘t to hear this stuff from Adam Ritenberg, who has no intel and just threw crap out there. Franklin busted his butt to build Penn State to what it is. He had opportunities in the past to leave and didn’t. He stuck it out and, as Ritenberg acknowledges, Franklin now has resources and support he sought earlier. He’s got an AD who is getting stuff done. Franklin is good for PSU, and this type of “journalism” is pure troublemaking.

The pressure to win Nattys will be high at Florida. They’re on a string of mediocre coaches. They want the guy who can win the SEC and a title. And they have the booster money to do it.

I don’t think Vandy or PSU are good comparisons for what Florida will expect from a coach.

Franklin and Penn State‘s leaderers are maligned aligned.

And all those guys I mentioned were brought in with booster money and the thought they were the guys to win the SEC. Florida hasn’t won the SEC since 2008. That’s 17 yrs ago. That’s also the last time they made the playoff. In the same amount of time PSU has won 2 B1G titles and made the playoff once. As we know, Franklin won the B1G in 2016 and made the B1G Championship game last year. He also made the playoff last year. Maybe the Florida fans are a little delusional in their self assessment? I think PSU is a fine comparison to Florida. In fact, since 2008, even with crippling sanctions, PSU appears to be better off than Florida.
