Is Crean not The biggest jerk in the conference. When does Indiana kick his butt out of there? I think the fans want him out now.

You are spot on. As a lifelong Hoosier fan this bloodletting can't end soon enough.

Only thing that has made this year tolerable has been watching NU. Bryant is from where I live (New Castle) and it doesn't surprise me a bit you guys are having the success you are. Kid is a winner, always has been.

It's possible you guys could still win the conference. Good luck the rest of the way.

The thing is, when Crean was hired, many IU fans fired back at those who were saying that Crean was a good recruiter, but a horrible game day coach and a bit of an arse-hat.

I think Crean may be done at IU after this season, barring a major showing in either the B1G Tourney or NCAAs.

^ Same reason why FB recruits inexplicably want to play for that red-faced, screamer in the other part of the state of Indiana?

Haven't seen many coaches recover from this type of coach speak!

I listened to it expecting something awful after all these comments. What I heard was a coach not using the usual coach speak, being brutally honest about how his team played. What's the big deal?

I think the "big deal" is the coach has now established the "them" vs. "me" line. As in, it's not my fault we are losing, it's those lousy players. Very de-motivating. I've had a few bosses like that in my career. They typically don't last too long.

He called out the lack of leadership among his older players and lack of movement by his guards, but then he said it ultimately fell on him as the coach to make things work. He also specifically praised Bryant for his hustle and hard work, and he said he was trying to fill the leadership void as an underclassman, when he should instead have the older guys to learn from.

Crean may be a jerk, but I have no problem with what he said. He has a talented team, and he expects his older players to lead by example.

If Crean had any chance of saving his job, throwing the players under the bus didn't do himself any good. Thats the kind of stuff that IU coaches usually get fired for.
