JR, I enjoyed your post on Criticism Warranted about Coach Stoops, but I didn't see anything about the decisions that were made, which is what a lot of fans are upset about. Having to call a timeout before a punt, not calling a TO and letting the time expire and taking a 5 yd. penalty on a field goal. Only having 8 men on the field one play, only having 10 men on the field and having to call the TO, unable to punch it in on 1st and goal on the 1 yard line (how about Hyde), leaving the receiver uncovered, etc.
A lot of fans are wondering why he took Barker out and put PT back in during the Vandy game. Barker was the only one who threw for a touchdown, and both threw an interception.
I still think you have to give a coach 5 years, but he must be showing improvement after the second year, and definitely after the 3rd year.
I've been watching UK football since the 50's, Bear Bryant days, and I will always be there, win or lose, and believe me, I have seen enough losses. I realize it's going to take time, but with stupid decisions, it will take more time.
