Morning, folks.

My name is Nathan Stevens and I frequent the Football/Basketball forums under the username to the left. I'm a graduate of UK (2000) and future Masters graduate (May 2018). I work in the College of Communication and Information here at UK, have been for some time, and I'm currently heading up a virtual reality project that I was hoping you all might spread the word about.

I have a team of talented individuals who are creating a VR game for children with cancer. The game's purpose is to improve the quality of life for the children while they are in the hospital. It is intended to act as a distraction. We're creating this game so that kids can put on a VR headset, forget their surroundings and interact with other kids/patients without leaving their hospital bed, as some simply cannot leave their beds (and some of the kids are isolated from others). It's a mobile-based VR game, so they will only need a phone and VR headset. All the money we raise for this will pay for programmers/artists and hardware (which we'll donate to the hospital). Our long term goal is to give this game out for free to any hospital in the country that wants it. We are not looking to make a profit.

I'm posting this in hopes that you'll spread the word about the project. I truly believe it is worthy of attention and I know you all probably know someone who might be interested in helping.

The link for the crowdfunding is here:

Thank you in advance. Hope the day goes well for you all. GO CATS!

-Nathan

Bumping until I can figure out how to ask a Mod about pinning this or allowing me to share it in Football/Basketball forums. :)

People start threads in the basketball and football forums all the time that are in no way related to UK. This is. Go ahead and post it there.
