Yep. All the way back to 1960. I was 8 years old. If it got right down to it and we all really knew each other we would find a lot of common ground. I have two really good friends that are unc fans and also Yankee fans. When we do get together we discuss the Yankees and not the unc/Duke rivalry. OFC
Can you guys see this. Opening game in Cleveland. Charlie Sheen is ask to throw out the first pitch. He makes his entrance from the Indian bullpen. He comes through the door wearing in a Cleveland Indian uniform. He charges onto the field with the P.A. system blaring out the song "Wild Thing." That would be AWESOME. Go Cubs. OFC
I would love to see that Sky, and they need to allow Pedro Cerrano into the Indians locker room where he can practice voodoo with Jobu and rum.
2003 was when I first became a fan. And don't worry I'm not a bandwagon haha. I imagine we could talk for hours about the Yankees, especially after this season.
Well, I never watch baseball. But I WILL be watching this World Series. One of my best friends son is from right here in Newport and plays for the Indians. I will be pulling for Lonnie Chisenhall and the Indians , 100%. Kinda cool a little kid from my hometown who I always watched out there in the field throwing that baseball back and forth with my friend Tommy winds up in the World Series.
Wow what a 7th game in the world series. Congrats to all Cubs fans. I thought the Indians were going to tie it up in the bottom of the 10th.
I don't watch baseball either but I have a similar story to yours. Former Rangers pitcher Matt Harrison is from the same town I grew up in and still live in.

What a win for cubs fans. I'm so very happy for them. I thought they were just dead in the water but good grief wow. What a year for sports championships!

Oh MAN do I love coming on and reading this after the fact haha! And to be honest, after game three, I was still saying we had a chance. I was confident IF we could find a way in game five, we had great shots in six and seven because of pitching matchups, Schwarber back and playing AWAY FROM WRIGLEY. Where we were tight. I didn't call it - but damn I know these Cubs. I think I missed four games all year.
Haha - What a night. Last year I was at game four at Wrigley when we got swept away by the Mets. I'll never forget the hurt I felt (well, I've experienced it MANY times in my over 30 years of fanatical fandom).
But Wednesday was unreal. I cried like a baby - ran around the neighborhood with my W flag and stayed up most of the night. Absolutely surreal still.
Thanks for all the positive thoughts everyone - I'll cherish this the rest of my life. My grandfather played in the Cubs minor league organization and game one was the eighth anniversary of his death. My mother was born the year the Cubs were last in the series - I grew up going to Wrigley and it's been in my blood for 40 years. Moving to Kansas has put a crimp in my style and held me back from getting to Wrigley for the first time in years. But I'll be back next year - guaranteed.
On to Duke hoops and our Blue Devils season! Can't wait! I'll be back on the board a whole lot more now!
