Interesting that Wilbon is listed behind Bryant. Damn, for all the flashes of elusiveness we have seen from Wilbon, there must be something seriously deficient in his game.

They aren't getting #1 reps in practice this week. They aren't starting or even playing this week. How exactly are they 1s on a document titled "Nebraska Depth Chart - Fresno State" ?

One less change to make when you put out next week's depth chart. DJ ain't going back on that chart til 2017. Nate and Bradon are next week.
Not that anyone is this patient, definitely including myself, and things always change, but the depth chart the year after next looks like it's the one to get Nebraska over the hump.
That's been my long-game theory. That whether or not Riley can coach at a championship level, at worst he acts respectably and reloads the program with talent. I think he's here to flip the culture and raise the talent level, and if he happens to put trophies on the shelves, that's gravy. If he doesn't, the next guy isn't taking over a rebuilding project.
I sure hope so. Important to have at least a respectable year this year as well. Another losing season and the negativity here will get stratospheric
I think Bryant is that good. From what I've heard it is a two man show with OZ and Tre right now. As Tre gets a few more reps, you will see him more and more. It's a great problem to have at this point.

Wow are you are full of wild speculation a lot. Any evidence to back it up? Before you suggest a player's attitude is "crappy" I would hope you have some evidence.
I've heard Newby's name mentioned several times on the podcasts as a guy who is putting it all together. That from people who have been at some practices. Newby and Young were the two that people talked about as freak athletes who were gonna be really nice LBs when the light came on for them.

I admit it is speculative. But I reject that it is "wild". A player with his obvious running skills sits at 4th string and gets passed on the depth chart by a true freshman. That is odd. Riley and others have mentioned in the past that he needs work in pass protection and pass catching. Therefore, I think that speculation has evidence. Maybe I should not further speculate that he has a bad attitude. But hey, this is a chat board and it is my experience that very, very often a talented player who languishes on the depth chart also has attitude issues. I stand by that observation
I would think it's gotta be something other than what he's able to do with a football in his hands. I seem to recall some insinuation that his playbook knowledge wasn't exactly top-flight.
Rumblings on Tre Bryant are that he's the truth.
I saw that, but leodisflowers stated that it would be a 2 man show with Oz and Tre. I wasn't sure if he was talking about the competition for the #2 back, or if he thought Newby would just be the third down/spread back, like he was in the Bowl Game.
I think the ACL injury really slowed his mental development down. I'd guess that he'll surpass those above him by year's end or by next year's Depth Chart.

Is "I hope so" an unkind response? I love that Newby has worked hard to improve, yada yada yada but the gap between his athleticism and how effective he actually is as a runner is staggering to me.
To play, it's idea to know more than a handful of plays. That was the issue last year. Could be the same this year.
Newby has so far shown very little ability to read blocks, hit holes, accelerate into gaps and make people miss after first contact. He has good speed and some decent shake and bake in the open field. But Ozigbo knows how to move the chains
From what I read and saw concerning Tre Bryant, he's a complete back coming out of high school. Just say what you want him to do, and he can do it already. Is he gonna be really good in college, who knows.
This is gonna be just my opinion. This staff is technique oriented (vs. aggression and improvisation). A player has to do exactly what the staff wants/expects.
Which means he is probably lazy. In other words... "Attitude". Oops! More wild speculation!
I think all of those RB's will get snaps. I'll take 3 or 4 quality running backs on the roster...you'll need them all before the end of the season.

Agree there. We've seen how fast one or two guys can get hurt and miss time. A couple of bad sprains and sudden #4 needs to be ready to see a lot of touches.
