I recently seen an interview with him and really like his attitude. In that interview they asked him to describe himself and he said “ Im a winner and have won everywhere I have been”. Maybe arrogance a little but you can just tell he has that fire and drive. He has a very impressive resume and is lighting it up at Indiana of all places. Check him out if you haven’t already.

I doubt OU fires BV though mostly because of the buyout.
Personally I think we have to keep BV at least one more season. The defense is doing what we've been begging for and still has an upward trajectory. The recruiting is great.
The new OC will make or break Venables at OU. It doesn't have to be perfect in 2025 but the offense has to have an identity and the defense will need to take another step.
I know it sounds silly but keeping David Stone and Jayden Jackson might be the most important move we make in the offseason. Stone especially is the type that will rally the troops.
There is a lot of if’s in regard to who comes back and who stays if OU finishes 5-7. If the bulk of your team transfers out it may be best to also cut ties with the HC and allow a whole new staff to rebuild. I am not advocating to fire BV but if OU doesn’t beat Maine then he needs to be shown the door. You gotta stick with BV for one more season. Firing him now might throw us into furthur chaos. I think we can be a lot better next season if Arnold comes back and most of our guys are healthy.
Well I agree on the Maine game. Surely we won't lose that game right? Kinda feel bad for BV because I do like his personality, drive, etc. There is a lot of if’s in regard to who comes back and who stays if OU finishes 5-7. LV,I don't know if some people in here are just trying to be over the top or if they actually believe that Maine can beat OU.
Maine isn't even a Division 1 program. They got blown out at home by Monmouth 51-22. OU could play its scout team against Maine and win the game. That's how much of a talent differential there is.
LV,
Have you forgotten how many times a FBS school has lost to an FCS school?
Bet the house then is all I can say. I wouldnt do it with this team. It will be interesting though to see what the spread will be.We're not talking about North Dakota State or Montana State or any other upper echelon FCS program, who would stand a small, but reasonable chance of pulling an upset. Maine is below average, even by FCS standards. They pose no threat to OU in this game.
I will only say this, OU had 4 years to get ready for the SEC so thats on OU. Texas on the other hand made sure they were ready. This is on the entire athletic department. 4 years wasted.Let’s omit losing to the Maine scenario. It’s silly to be of any concern.
OU will surely prioritize finding a capable offensive coordinator and rebuilding the offensive line through better evaluation of transfers and the JUCO route. Keeping the 2025 OL commitments will also be important.
Then there’s getting the WR corps healthy and deepening the depth there.
With Gabriel gone, OU has had to deal with developing freshmen quarterbacks in Arnold and Hawkins who now have shed their redshirt status. One or both could conceivably transfer after this season. My hope that at least Arnold stays.
Venables deserves one more year.
OU was not ready for entry into the SEC this year but the money grab was too much for OU to postpone past this year.
Now they’re pay the price.
Its a sign of Poor Leadership imo.I will only say this, OU had 4 years to get ready for the SEC so thats on OU. Texas on the other hand made sure they were ready. This is on the entire athletic department. 4 years wasted.
The B12 would have eaten this team up this year.

The defense has been good enough to win games but the lack of offense is the issue. I just don’t think it would be any better with a B12 schedule. We just see things different.I don't think so. The Big 12 has sixteen teams, and as bad as OU is this year, only three or four of them are better than OU. BYU, Kansas State, Iowa State, and maybe Colorado. That's about it.

I imagine BYU has an argument for being the B12s best but what we don’t know as fact is that 7 SEC teams are better. They would have to play to make that fact. On paper it may be true but only on paper.I guess so. Iowa State is probably the best team in the Big 12 right now, and there are seven SEC teams better than them.
No effing way, that better not happen. He is a good fit at bottom feeder SC.Beamer would be a great replacement!
That would not ever happen anyway. No effing way, that better not happen. He is a good fit at bottom feeder SC.
