CUSA Championship Banner

This has been bugging me all season. It's possible that I'm just blind, but I don't see a CUSA championship banner anywhere in the Reynolds' Center for 2014. I have seen the Tournament Champions banner, but not the Conference one, and the Conference championship is much more impressive. Does anyone know why we don't have that banner hung? (Or can confirm that I am indeed just missing it?)

I'm almost positive we have a CUSA championship banner. I know they displayed one in the first home game of the season in the North East corner of the rafters. Not sure where it was moved to though.

Yes, we were co-champs with 3 other schools. LaTech was the #1 seed in the tourney and I believe we were the 2, MTSU was the 3. Can't remember who was 4...

I don't actually remember which one it is, I just remember there only being one rolled out.

I'll be on the lookout Wednesday!

I emailed the athletic director a few days ago saying that there is a banner missing. I believe every other TU team that has won at least a share of the regular season championship has a banner to honor them. I have not gotten a response yet. Maybe if we get a few more people to complain something will be done to correct this.

As I understand it, the kids should have three banners for last year - 1. NCAA (2014) - 2. CUSA Co Champs - 3. CUSA Tourney Champs. Is that correct?

I'm with dawg. I didn't think we'd won the regular season either. I guess when you share with three other teams and you're not the #1 seed, it doesn't really seem like much of a championship to me. But whatever floats one's boat.

We won the conference just as much as anyone else did...

True. And I'm not trying to argue, we just have a different perspective on it. A 25% share of a conference championship is the kinda thing Doug would have at the top of his resume in 72 point extra bold sans serif, b/c Doug probably hates serif fonts like he hates southwest Tulsa.

A championship is a championship. First one in a decade too.

I'll take a big *** AAC season champ banner if we share it with SMU!

The logo and branding continually change through eras. I am completely fine with a 70's or 80's championship banner looking different than one we raise this year. It shows you have been good over a period of time, shows tradition, etc. Thats not to say that you won't have down years or a few years. I feel the logo and brand have changed for the better since the Rainbow Brite days to the cleaner Script Tulsa look
