Our D battled, hit and swarmed. They deserve better.

4 turnovers and they gave up 13 points.

We will make a bowl game this year.

I thought Nash played real well. I thought Ty is still the same guy who walked in the door 5 years ago. I thought NU was gonna create havoc with the 3-3-5, yet, we hardly ever sent guys. The defensive effort was great all game.

Early on they were going after Brown, then he finally made them pay with the INT. I thought overall the DB's tackled well, we just played so far off the ball.

Both Corcoran and Piper continue to suck. It looks like Nouili moving to the RG spot has managed to help Benhart, he was much less visible today.

Take the FG before half, get the call on the apparent Ervin TD and its game over. NU just never makes their own breaks, they are only victims of the ill timed mistake(s).

It will be interesting to see if the depth chart changes next week since Rhule said its week to week.

Here is the problem though imo. This was the first game now everybody has tape on us. Having dbs play 10-15 yards off the ball won't work. We will just get beat up and tired eventually.

For the most part, the D was very good. Still managed to piss it away at the end, the same old story. Hopefully they can build off the performance though and become the unit we can rely on, because I have a feeling we're going to need it.

55 yards rushing allowed. Against Minnesota. Spectacular. -3 turnovers. That can't happen again. If it does, serious personnel changes have to be made. If they aren't, it's the same ole same ole.

Yeah, but it might be a good way to start the DBs off for the first game, as the 3-3-5 defense is prone to allowing big plays. NUs secondary did not really allow big plays, and the 4Q TD was a perfect and lucky play, or game over. From what I saw, the DBs look good enough to get closer as they grow into the scheme and gain more confidence.

Defense is the least of our worries. They have talent and can mix looks up. Offense is unbelievably mismanaged right now. Frostesque.

D and Special Teams are improved.

O-Line still can't sustain a running game.
After seeing tonight's game, teams are going to stack the box and make Sims beat them by passing the ball.

My personal opinion is that he doesn't see the field very well and it's obvious why he has a history of throwing the ball to the wrong team.

We haven't made a bowl game in 6 years people....the D was good but the 3-3-5 I always will hate late game. Iowa St runs the same D and I've seen them piss away almost the same amount of games past five years. BUT this loss was all on the offense. 4 turnovers and not having your RBs carry more.

The Blackshirts did their part. I'm hopeful they continue to learn & grow in the 3-3-5. They just might keep us in some games this year.

They folded when it counted and THAT is all that matters.
You can only serve so many crap sandwiches before you eat some crap. They got a HUGE 3 and out when momentum could have been given back to the gophers and put the offense in a position to ice the game. Then we fumbled.

They battled deep in our territory and on 4th down their WR makes an insane grab.

Then the O instead of taking it to OT or -gasp- drive to win, served another crap sandwhich. 4-TO’s and our d held them to 13 pts. There was no fold IMO.

I get it your grasping for straws trying to polish a turd of a performance. They lost.......again.....period. 0-1. It sucks that we have another running back pretending to be a QB.

Every Big 10 DC will watch that tape and tell their DBs to just watch Sims' eyes. Sims might as well tell the opposing teams who he is throwing to in advance. Minnesota's defense is good but Sims made their DBs look all-world.
