Does Isiah Brown remind anyone else of Juice Thompson? I remember when Juice was young he was over exuberant and aggressive. He took a lot of "don't do that" shots but he made some of them also.

The stats are impossible to compare since Juice came in to start day 1. Let's hope he follows/exceeds his career path.

It makes me think: what historic NU player would be a good complement to this team?

Esch would be a nice inside presence but he might lure us away from our current offense.

Shurna would be nice but we have many threats from deep.

I would have to say another driving threat like Juice would be top of my list.

No, Isiah Brown is a much creative and fluid offensive player. I am thinking more like Yogi Ferrell, Trey Burke or Isiah Thomas. In two years, I am seeing he, Vic Law and Falzon as the leading scorers

I still can't believe all those PAC12 schools weren't all over Brown. Great job by Collins to identify and successful recruit Isiah to Evanston.

It is amazing. Isiah is the real deal. All I can imagine is he committed early and was completely sold on NU so the PAC-12 didn't bother.

brown is the most improved player from the beginning of this season, he seems to better understand his role and what he needs to do to make this team better.

I was just thinking about that question and I think Jitim Young would be perfect, he totally fits into what CC is trying to build and do. We would be one of the better defensive teams in the country.

Shon Morris is a big guy who could stick an open jumper. We could use another 6'10" PF who go out and hit an open jumper and also guard a Big like Biggie Swanigan. I am sure that Todd Leslie would be a deadeye left handed three point shooter and would be great off the bench. Kevin Rankin would be a solid 7'0" big guy who had excellent interior post moves and Pat Baldwin could put the clamps on any PG like Melo Trimble. Best defensive point guard in NU recent history (past 25 years) IMHO.

See more of Cobb (rather than Juice) in Brown; unfortunately, we never quite got to see what Cobb was capable of doing completely healthy.

Brown has made frosh mistakes - playing, at times, uncontrolled (but also making some tough, incredible shots) but has settled things down some as the season has gone along.

That was the same way w/ Cobb in his frosh year.

Now, Demps drove me nuts w/ his uncontrolled play a good bit beyond his frosh year.

Speaking of other players - man, imagine if the 'Cats had Happ and Amir Coffey on the roster (both of whom led their team in scoring on Sat.).

We'd be talking about a run in the NCAAs to the Sweet 16 and beyond - 2 players who are a match-up nightmare with their combination of size, length and skill (the 'Cats would have plenty of height/length with those 2).

One note about Shurna, would definitely want him on the team irrespective of the other shooting forwards.

Lindsey is 2 away from matching Shurna in scoring in the double figures for 22 consecutive games.

Shurna would fit on any roster. He'd start for Lumpkin and score 20 a game.

I love Young. He was less skilled than Lindsey, but he'd kick your *** and get offensive boards. He was so tough and my favorite Cat.

A guy I liked watching was TJ Parker. I think he's the fastest Cat I've seen, and was great at turning steals into quick points. He'd definitely add a new dimension, though one that Brown will eventually provide.

I wouldn't want Tim Doyle.

I don't think there's much of a place for Esch in today's game.

Ultimately, I think both Young and Shurna would start over Lumpkin. I'd take Shurna. Law would score less and the team would score more, but the team would be better.

I'll take Evan Eschmeyer. Esch surrounded by this team would be sick.

Not as sure since this team is a lot based on D and Shurna, as good as he was offensively, was weak on D. This team needs that presence. Jitim on the other hand would definitely play before Sanjay. Same type player but better. Shurna would be splitting time with Lindsey and Law but not sure he would start. Last year, he would have started over Lindsey and Falzone and Law was not there so last year he would have been a very solid addition but this year not so sure.

I would like to see Vedran Vukusik (did I spell it right?) on this team. I think he would make us Elite 8 contenders if we would get in the tourney. He was smooth as Culver's custard as a player. I am pretty certain he played pro in Europe for several years after graduating. VV or even Kevin Coble- before his bad foot injury. He would add a Larry Bird-like Celtic feel to this team. But guess what? We've got Rapolis coming to our team next season! I'd like to see him play for us four years over any other player from the past- because our future teams and players are going to be better than anything we've seen on campus in our entire history! Go CATS!!

By the end of his tenure in purple, Shurna was decent on D.

While this team is built in D, Shurna is just too good offensively not to play (when CC wants to bear down on D, can bring in Jitim or Lumpkin).

Shurna roaming the 3 pt line would pull the opposing PF out, leaving more room for Pardon to man the paint and Lindsey, Law and BMac to attack the basket.

Shurna shot .440 from 3 pt range in his last year - that would go a long way in alleviating the offensive droughts the team has experienced in games.

Would still have 3 good defenders on the floor and Shurna averaged 1.7 blocks and 1.2 steals as a SR.

Compare that w/ Law who is averaging 0.5 blocks and 0.8 steals this season.

Don't know why you think Shurna would have split time w/ Law (much less Lindsey) when Shurna would be playing the 4-spot (which is where he spent most of his time, aside from the few times he manned the 5-spot).

Didn't mention VV since I figured it was going too far back, but he would have been another great addition (long have thought that VV was underappreciated due to teams that he was on, as well as having a career impacted by injuries).

Going back to Juice, several had thought it was a done deal that BMac would end up being the better PG after his frosh season, while I thought it was way too early to come to that conclusion and that it would end up being a close race.

BMac is entering the stretch run of his 3rd year and one can't say that BMac will end up being the better PG (probably would put Juice ahead at this point).
