I wanted to say how refreshing it was to hear a commentator go to bat for Grayson last night. I only got to see the last 10 minutes of the second half, but I was very happy with him. He simply said that Grayson did something stupid, but it is also stupid how much attention he now gets. He also raved about his play last night.

I also liked hearing Davis say on air that it garnered so much attention for 2 reasons. First, it was an odd thing. Second, people want to see a villain at Duke. That was great too.

They were the only team to show some support for Grayson and the only 2 I've heard say it was time to move on since Bilas said it. I hope they do every game from here on out.

Agreed. I enjoyed listening for once last night. Rece Davis kept trying to point the finger back at Grayson (like we all don't know Grayson has earned a lot of the hate), but I can live with Rece Davis calling a game

This was my take as well. I like Rece, and clearly he had a quota to fill but kudos to Dan for not taking the bait.

I suspect some coaches emphasize getting under Grayson's skin as much as possible - and see if they can bait him in anyway. I can't blame anyone for trying to get Grayson off his game, as he has obviously lost his cool a few times already. But it would be interesting to see a compilation video of all the aggressive fouls and crafty tactics that opposing players attempt while trying to get a reaction out of Grayson. Certainly the Wake and NC State games had multiple incidents - and I know those weren't the first examples of the year. Grayson knows he's a target and he knows has to remain calm when these contentious situations arise. He has done a good job lately of not reacting negatively.

But yes, Dakich did a great job announcing yesterday.. I'm always happy when we don't get Cory Alexander. Dakich was a nice surprise.

I think I posted in the game thread last night that Dakich was going to be make me vomit. I've just never been a fan....he had some words to say about Grayson, but I still don't think he's particularly very good.

Couldn't agree more. I appreciated what he said about Grayson, but I was honestly shocked to hear it come out of his mouth. He talks way too much for a color commentary guy. Loves him some him.

Enjoyed Dakich last night, nice to hear a new voice do our game. He's solid.

Wonder if we get Nantz & Hill this Sat on CBS.

what's amazing is that there are idiots that actually think Grayson tripped another player again. This just never ends. I wish they would just leave him alone. I'm tired of that always being the headline when Duke plays a great game. Duke played an awesome game last night. Let's talk about that but everyone is so fixated on Allen that they can't.

Saw the play....Its everywhere, but funny in a tightly called game last nite no foul was whistled. Sick media....Besides if you look closely, Gibbs is leaning into GA with his knee...

My favorite line from Dakich was "suddenly everyone has a psychology degree". That made me smile.

What was his line about "In hockey, you trip a guy you get two minutes. In basketball you get a trip to a sports psychologist." Something like that - I know I have the end wrong.

Jason Dufner (PGA Golfer) tweeted that out after the Elon tripping incident. Obviously referring to the overreaction by the media.
I've always been a fan of Duff!

Put me in the camp of enjoying Dakich last night. It was nice to hear a fair level headed view of the whole situation.

At one point he said something along the lines of, "I introduced myself to Grayson and got to talk to him, but what I told him I can't repeat on the air." I imagine he told him "f--- the haters." And if so, Grayson definitely did last night. ;)

I thought Dan was great. I wish we had more of his games. He's insightful, goes deeper then most others announcers and he's not biased.

All of his movements are questioned as if they are shrouded with ill-intent. Unfortunately this trend will continue the rest of his days in a Duke Uniform... Nobody said boo when Miles Bridges tripped Amile Jefferson.

I found him annoying but I did like the fact he stuck up for Grayson at the end of the game, and he did have some insightful things to say....I'm tired of ESPN in general.

I agree, I appreciated Dakich last night and what's Duff had to say about it after it happened. Here is a link to Duff's comments:
