Looking forward to them next weekend.
I was at the Federal Reserve downtown in Louisville when they announced Jerry was dead.

I was on my way to the Louisville Zoo when the announcement came out. I’ve seen DSO a few times, always a good time. Caught the Dead 23 times between 91-95.

Sorry man. You beat my 6 times seeing them. I have a friend that claims 110 times seeing them.

Just showing my imagination. Got into the show at the old Cardinal Stadium where Bruce Hornsby opened by having a semi hot chick bribe them $50 to let us in.

DSO is a solid alternative to the real thing... which obviously doesnt exist anymore (despite what Dead and Co fans might say).

Have a good friend who was at the famous ABB/Dead show at Watkins Glen in '73 (IIRC)... drank something from a jug preshow... woke up MUCH later... and EVERYONE was gone... missed the whole show lol.

I don't even understand them anymore. They had their 'farewell' shows as the Grateful Dead in 2015. But they've been touring in some combination before and after that just under different names.

I have seen both Dead and Co and DSO; frankly, I'd rather see DSO.

The music is "truer" to the original GD stuff and while Mayer and Burbage do their own thing (and do it very well)... I just prefer the classic sound of a Mutron lol.

^I LOVE Bob Weir and it pains me to say it but he's the weak link in that band. He just prefers a slower tempo and it bogs the music down. I know he's old, but he was doing it in Ratdog too. But DeadCo is still a helluva time and I'm seeing 3 shows later this summer. I also got tickets to see Phil and Friends in Nashville at the end of July. His kid is in the band but it's a tiny venue and time is running out to see him. He doesn't tour much anymore. Hell, he's 81 lol.

I've only seen DSO once. I'd like to see them more but they tend to stay in the "hot" Dead areas. They've made a good living doing what they do. I've been meaning to catch JRAD but haven't yet. They're playing a couple shows in St. Louis at the end of August but I've got too much on the plate to make it.

Kreutzmann's Billy and the Kids are playing Red Rocks tonight and tomorrow. Billy Strings is with them as well as Tom Hamilton (JRAD). Killer 1st set. Awaiting the 2nd now. If this band hit the road for a tour I'd be all over it.
