It certainly is good to be him…..six year contract starting at $ 1 million a year with $30k bump each additional year. Plus performance bonus’s. Some nice perks….Country Club membership….suite ( 4tickets) access for football games plus other stuff. This is all being eased by a billionaire donor who is also donating heavily towards their planned upgraded wrestling center and offices. The donor also has been quite generous with the use of his Jet as needed.

Good for DT. Nothing wrong with a PSU alum doing well... as long as he doesn't do too well 😉

Most excellent for him. Not on par with Franklin, but I suspect he'll know to bank most of that $1MM for a rainy day.

Don't you just love hearing about PSU alums (not E.Stroudsburg U grads) being hired and appropriately compensated based on merit?

I do like PSU grads being hired, but I'm not sure, at this point, there is a lot of "merit" for DT as a coach. He did have the M2 training center is was a great college wrestler and won international competitions at the absolute highest level, but he has not shown he can coach at a high level, yet. I think he can but I do not think he has shown it.

He is one of, if not, the highest paid college wrestling coaches. He has yet to earn the coaching accolades to justify this. I'm not knocking him, I just think it is a lot of speculation and not yet "earned". I also don't hold it against him for accepting whatever amout someone was willing to pay. Could OSU have gotten a coach with more coaching accolades for less money, probably, but they might not have got a better coach either.

I believe that DT is now….the highest paid.

You forgot to add an anxiety bonus for the angst Iowa fans will have seeing a PSU wrestling icon provide another major obstacle to their return to the top of the NCAA Wrestling Team Championship standings.

DT being hired at OKST is the first thing that has worried me since Cael was hired.
PSU won by 100 team points this year. Taylor may do really well, but PSU has a huge head start and a big gap for everyone else to make up. It could happen, but it won’t be overnight and I think Cael and Casey are smart enough to be ahead of the curve here. Plus, as long as the NLWC is churning out World Champs and Olympic wrestlers, State College will remain a destination for the top level kids.

I absolutely love it when my "haters" deny that David Taylor actually built a successful wrestling business. He took a few of his tutees to the NCAA's.

John Smith sees something that you don't.

That's a nice pay check for Mr Taylor. We have our own wrestling billionaire in former BOT Chairman Ira Lubert. I trust him to match or exceed any NIL offer out there and along with Cael the program is in great shape
