I'd be shocked if he didn't go SEC. UK losing Towles and Phillips, UF losing Grier, aTm losing Murray and Allen, Miss. St. Losing Prescott, and Hell, Bama might even look for a new QB. For the first time since I've watched CFB, the SEC has incredibly weak QB talent overall. Mauk is arguably the best returning QB next season? Damn. We need some QB talent in this conference again.

I like UK's chances with him. We recruited him coming out of high school and he would almost be guaranteed the starting spot.

MSU will have Nick Fitzgerald who should be pretty good. I would certainly agree that he could end up the SEC though. TAMU, Bama, and Florida offer a good shot at starting and a chance to be on a legit top team

Isn't OU's Trevor Knight supposedly favoring A&M? I can't see both of them ending up at the same school.

Mauk is not in the same league as Chad Kelly, assuming he returns.

You must have missed the breaking news when Stoops crowned Barker as the QB of the future starting next season.

I can't see any reason why a 5th year QB would want to come here to be a backup.

Funny how Stoops would make that call before the new OC was even on campus. Let's say Stoops called him the front runner leading into Spring. In either case, I doubt Barker starts if we bring in one of these highly rated transfers- regardless of how you perceive someone else's word and its finality.

A QB with experience and talent like Davis would likely start over a very young and inexperienced player like Barker.

I could think of a few reasons why a QB would come here. Hinshaw, Gran, Spread, offensive weapons (Boom, Badet, Baker, Johnson, Horton, CJ Conrad, Kemp, King, Bone, Greenwood, Timmons, etc...), SEC, keys to the car, etc.

Also, I said arguably, and just because opinions differ doesn't mean one is wrong.

Barker is the starter going forward although apparently not everyone got the memo. If this was fantasy football, I might could see a 5th year guy on the bench. But it's not.

He is the starter until he is not the starter. If you think Stoops and Gran are saying we will live and die by Barker then you are crazy. This staff is looking to bring in another QB. There will be another qb on this roster when fall camp gets here. If he is better than Barker then he will start. Simple as that. Towles had every opportunity to get it done and he couldn't. Phillips was never going to play regardless. I don't understand why fans on this board were so enamored with that kid. Because he got a few glowing remarks from Brown? I know you have an agenda. It's very clear. There is no reason to be dumb though.

I'm not the dense one here. Not only is this not fantasy football, it's not the basketball board. Stick to that.
