Any new names cropping up? Saw the Ed Harris thing may have some legs, anybody else?
As much as I like Ed Harris the actor, don't think he would be a good DB coach. Assume you meant Ed Reed?

He has head coaching experience in South Carolina. Sign him up.

I know it was a typo. Just messing with you OP.
Ed Harris was good in Apollo 13. I'm betting he can coach DBs.
Harris has not turned down the job yet. Unfortunately, Reed reportedly has.Ironically, I saw Apollo 13 again a week or 2 ago. Guess that's why I had Ed Harris on my mind.
What about Allpro Frank Minniefield from Lexington played for Cleveland Browns?Any new names cropping up? Saw the Ed Reed thing may have some legs, anybody else?

Would a big name former pro player with less coaching experience be better for us for recruiting purposes since Coach Stoops is experienced in coaching DB's? Or is it better to get a very experienced coach with less name recognition?

TJS, has that already been reported?
Yes, John Hale reported that Ed Reed turned down the job. Read it on KSR.
I am sure Stoops will float some names by us to get fan reaction.
Kirk Callahan? Just got canned at Florida, but is a young coach that's going places. He has a strong connection to the Tampa Bay Area because of his father.
I don't know much about the situation, but if he was not considered to be good enough for FL to keep, that is a pretty big red flag, IMHO.
As far as Callahan, he has some tie to Heargraves. Apparently it was well-known that once Heargraves left, so did Callahan.
But, I am a little disappointed in you guys, As much as (some) UK fans like re-treads, I'm surprised that Rick Smith or Wesley McGriff haven't been brought up! Maybe Terrell Buckley just wanted to get away from Bobby, and would welcome the chance to coach (again) with his friend, Lamar? Wouldn't that send the UofL fans into a tizzy...
If it is Harris, UK may have a connection. A couple of TL Hannah alums played @ UK, including Raphael Little. Also, the real "Radio" led the Wildcats out onto the field before a game.
- Radio was actually the head coach at UK a few years back.

There is no better place in the country to recruit than GA &Fla..I think a lot of their 2*-3* are better than 4* from north...Danny T-Wesley WoodyardIs it a good idea to have ALL of our coaches from Florida? Great talent, but expensive trips and a long way from home for the recruits, lots of talent closer to home. The Bear got most of his All Americans from western Pennsylvania, for instance, who do we have in the state we have recruited hardest in the past, Georgia?
Vince Marrow is still on the payroll jaukIs it a good idea to have ALL of our coaches from Florida?
Florida talent closer to Lexington? Huh? No, not the quantity or quality.Great talent, but expensive trips and a long way from home for the recruits, lots of talent closer to home.
obviously someone since we have 5 nonseniors on the roster from Georgia & signed 2 more. obviously not as much an emphasis as Kentucky, Ohio, and what Florida is going to be in the near future.who do we have in the state we have recruited hardest in the past, Georgia?
Or act like he can.Ed Harris was good in Apollo 13. I'm betting he can coach DBs.

Looks like they are going after Grady Brown,ex So Carol DB coach, good recuiter in Fla
Well, Mike Cassity's at WKU ready and able for Round 3 coaching at UK? He's only about 70 years old or so, huh, perfect! As far as Callahan, he has some tie to Heargraves. Apparently it was well-known that once Heargraves left, so did Callahan.
