Well that is now two potential DE starters gone: Vanover denied extra year of eligibility and Smith Vilbert portalled. Serious hit to DE experience and depth.
Vanover is the bigger loss. While depth and experience may be thinner now, DDS, Granville, and White were most likely the top three DEs anyway. Smith-Vilbert was most likely still a complimentary player to those three. I don’t blame him for exploring other options for his last year….or he was persuaded to leave.

I saw rumors that he was offered more money elsewhere.

He'll never find a team now. We were told that players HAD to declare before the playoffs or there will be no space for them anywhere :rolleyes:
