Assuming youre looking at downtown restaurants, Ill limit my post to those.

Its really good, but you can probably do better for the price. The cellar bar is the best part of the entire restaurant.

Rye (basically next door) is slightly better.

Proof is incredible - just go there.

If you cant get into Proof, go to Milkwood.

If you're downtown go to Against The Grain, better and less expensive than the ones already mentioned. Also more casual, but maybe that's just my style.

If you can get to AtG before the brisket is gone, it's pretty good. Also, the pork belly appetizer is pretty tasty.

Wild Rita's has pretty good Mexican dishes, tacos , etc. and a bunch of tequilas and margaritas.

Doc crows has a good raw bar and decent, not great, BBQ.

Just depends if you want high-end, date night type meal or sort of laid back but good meal. There are a lot of places of varying levels down there now.

Had the lamb chops at Decca, was not impressed. Felt over priced, mediocre service, and just ok food.

Just ate at Ward 426, on Baxter. It was phenomenal. Recommend going there over Decca. It's chef from Jack Frys and Dean Corbitz. Did the 5 course with shrimp and grits, heirloom tomato salad infused with a balsamic reduction, arugula, goat cheese.

The beef tenderloin was just like jack fry filet.

If you're after a good gourmet burger experience you have to go to Game on Lexington rd. Kangaroo...best burger I've ever had.

We initially tried to get into Rye but it was full. It was my GF and I and Decca ended up being very good for what we were looking for. She doesn't eat much, and when I'm drinking I tend to not eat very heavy either ... so since we were going to a concert after I wasn't looking for a full scale grub fest (if I eat too much I tend to just want to lay down instead of party).

And typically, I always eat at Jack Fry's when in that town, but we were just looking to try something different. Also, since we were staying on Market it was convenient as we just walked down there.

We had some mussels that were some of the best I've had. Really really good. Then I had a risotto that was really good, if not a bit sparse on the portion. She had a cheese plate, which was good. And they brought us some free wood fired beets. I don't even like beets but these had a smoky flavor that reminded me of smoked meat. Service was impeccable.

I'll agree that it's overpriced for the portions, etc, but we had an excellent meal and it was pretty much what we were seeking.
