Hard to imagine that the two OU players with all the issues and controversy, go before Perine. Did Perine have concerns that we just didn't know about?

No character issues for Samaje.. And apparently Dede had a bunch.

One NFL coach tweet today after he was drafted said that he was kicked out of a 15 minute interview. Another reported tweet referencing a different NFL coach, called him a degenerate. Have no idea where that would be coming from, unless he was seemingly unrepentant about his partner abuse issues. It's not like NFL players are a bunch of choir boys.

But Samaje isn't as good a prospect physically. He has the stats physically of a fullback, not an NFL running back. He's not fast enough. There is the perception that his rugged rushing style survived because he was in the XII and still was hurt a lot. And in the NFL, he'll have a hard time staying healthy.

I wondered why Dede dropped so far. That the Kupp kid went before Westbrook is close to absurd. The DMN also said that there was some private survey that said that only four teams considered drafting Joe Mixon. I find that remarkable.

I wonder if any other Sooners will be drafted. I'd think that Jordan Evans should, but his measurables were so much better than most of his tape. At least it was until his daddy set him down. Jordan will get a contract with somebody.

BTW, I did a little research. NFL fourth rounders typically get guaranteed contracts of half a million a year, to a little under a million with signing bonuses close to that range. So Samaje and Dede will do pretty well. But I think Dede is as good a player as the guy from East Carolina who went in the first half of the first round. That he had the worst interviews in this draft, according to multiple sources, cost him a lot.
