This year's team has seen an incredible improvement in defense, which has been largely credited to our new assistant coach Chris Lowery.
However, I have been most impressed by the change in this year's offense, and its improvement over the course of this season. The offense seems to be taking dramatically fewer dumb, midrange shots. Compared to previous years under CCC, this team seems much more willing to attack the basket for a lay-up, find an open cutter, or patiently pass for an open three-pointer. The offense movement and shot selection is just better than previous years.
I feel like Coach Lowery's influence on defense (i.e. coaching the players on how to force opponents into bad shot selection) is also having a positive impact on our offense (i.e. by understanding bad shot selection, the team is looking for better shot selection on offense).
Anyways, very proud of our team this year, and definitely think Coach Lowery deserves some post-season awards.
