Except for safties getting burned on deep passes a few times last night, the defense played really well. It seems when OU is in man-to-man coverage, they're usually there to make a play on the ball, it's when OU plays zone that they get torched. I blame the defensive coordinator on that because you can't keep dropping 8 back in coverage with zero pass rush. OU needs more zone blitzes or just stick to man coverage.

I'll just say....OU is still a train wreck on defense from top (coaching) to bottom (players).
And the incredibly stupid and reckless block by WR TJ Simmons on Tre Brown that wiped out a long touchdown run by West Virginia's Kenneth McCoy killed West Virginia in the 4th quarter.
It was a great example of how NOT to lose composure under game conditions. He blocked Brown all the way across the sidelines and almost to the wall. Totally inexcusable.

We have a pulse on Defense, barely but not enough for the cfp (this year). If we can get real help before 12/19 to retool the D culture then maybe #8 comes before we lose Riley hopefully

The current recruiting haul for 2019 does not reflect a priority of serious defensive upgrading and it will take much more than one recruiting haul to get OU defensively relevant. One linebacker and one DT isn’t enough. And a top notch DC who is familiar with defending spread offenses must be found.

By "real help" I meant ink on a new young rising star DC contract to finish the recruiting class

LR needs to hire his new DC now and get him on the road recruiting DTs and safeties plus put together a top notch staff.

Everyone keeps talking about Michigan's #1 defense, well look what the #2 offense just did to them in the 1st half. I loved how the commentators said Michigan hasn't faced a passing team like Ohio State all season and then said the only team more explosive was Oklahoma. :)

Hmmmmm, are they saying Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, and Michigan should fear OU?

If I was coaching Bama, Clemson, or Notre Dame there is no way in heck I'd want to face OU. The Sooner offense is crazy good.
