Penn State losing to Oregon at home and UCLA on the road in consecutive weeks is not the end of the world! In fact it happened before in 1964!
We lost at UCLA 14-21 on September 26, 1964 and at home to Oregon 14-22 the following week, October 3, 1964.
Take heart! The season ended well and notably we defeated the #2 ranked Buckeyes in Columbus 27-0 in November.
Our coaching staff can use this to motivate the team as Rip Engle was the head coach.
One more positive from this: 2 years later Penn State had a new head coach who turned out to be somewhat successful!
