Delta 8 question

We just returned from Key West and while down there walked into a dispensary. According to the guy in there, it’s legal for him to ship a bottle of their gummies to our address in Kentucky. I tried googling it to find out if he’s correct but have found several articles and they seem to contradict each other.
So is there any lawyers or anyone in here who could clear it up for me?

Not a lawyer, but yes, Delta 8 THC is legal because of some farm bill that allows CBD and other products sourced from hemp instead of cannabis. I can go to the local smoke shop down the street and get a Delta 8 vape cartridge right now.

However, I read that while it's legal to sell and be in possession of it, they made it illegal to ship it as of March of this year.

I've tried it, and it's pretty meh honestly. You get a slight body buzz but no "mind high". There's nothing psychoactive about Delta 8. Not really worth the money IMO.

I’ve only tried the gummies I got in Key West. I had to eat a whole gummy to get any kind of reaction but I did feel a high. Not the same as smoking but it was a high.
Then again it had been a few years since I quit smoking.

We have dispensaries down here telling everyone they’re selling actual weed to people and they are, to those of us that have a Florida medicinal marijuana card. They’re selling everyone else gullible enough Delta 9 and CBD. People ask me about it at the bar all the time, same reply every time, “He told us it was real marijuana.” Nope.

Even with dispensaries, I have my card to protect myself, but I still buy from my guy because it’s the same or better and cheaper.

Not that the police really give a **** unless you’re walking down the street smoking flower. Pens they couldn’t care less about, it’s too much a hassle to test and whatnot for a marijuana fine.

Delta 9

Probably just a typo, but 9 is the pot we all grew up smoking. Delta 8 and 10 are derived from hemp and thus slipping through a legal loophole nationwide. I'm sure some of the more backwards *** states will close that loophole soon. Thank God I live in Virginia and can walk around smoking joints on July 1st.

Delta 8 is a more relaxed, sedated kinda high. Delta 10 (supposedly - I haven't had it), is a more energetic high. I quit ordering the gummies and just started buying pot when VA legalized everything. When I was ordering, I shopped on CBD genesis which I'd recommend.

If it makes you rest easier, a couple years ago I had a friend in a legal state who used to ship me 2 ounces of bud every so often.

Post office seized one of the packages. I got a letter in the mail saying the package was siezed and I could come claim it or if no one claimed it in 21 days, the case was closed. I didn’t claim it.
That was the end of it.

The feds won’t kick in your door for D8 gummies.

so update because a bot decided to top this thread. several months ago I bought a bunch of Delta 8 50mg gummies and a 100mg bag of Delta 8 pop rocks. I ate the pop rocks and then like an hour late ate a gummy. At which point I forgot what Julia Roberts looked like and then decided to spend the rest of the night researching

They sell Delta 8/9/10 gummies at the CBD store on Woodhill Drive in Lexington.

All different types of "highs." It takes about 50mg of 8 to get as high as about 10-15mg of 9, for me at least. Haven't tried the 10.
