Devin booker V. Aaron Harrison

With what the "experts" on tv are now saying I may finally get that crow meal deal. I know Lou will be serving and I'll be first in line as promised. I know others will follow(hopefully). Here's my question what is it that booker d does better than Aaron Harrison that makes him a lottery pick and Aaron not even the top 100 now. Does the fact he's a twin hurt, since he's compared unfairly to Andrew? Does the fact Aaron's a sophomore hurt him being at UK? I'm happy as hell booker is a projected lottery pick, I just would like to hear your opinion.

comparing the 2 they both are:
Great shooters
Good defenders
Can take over a game
Ball skills are good
Can create own shot

Devin is an outstanding player, period.

That said, I believe the "back-up quarterback syndrome" has had an effect this year. Ulis and Booker have both played extremely well and on par with the twins. Starters are always more scrutinized and freshmen are always the new wonderful item.

Had Dakari and Lee been close to KAT and WCS maybe their reps would have been affected? Not saying the twins have been nearly as effective as those two.

But the scrutiny the twins have experienced since day one has been magnified 10 fold due to the production of Tyler and Devin IMHO.

Devin is a much better shooter and all around player. One thing not mentioned very often is his attitude, he is always upbeat and never seems to do much complaining. Both of the twins complain about every call against them and I believe that hurts your draft stock more than people realize.

Disagree. Almost every NBA player complains about calls every game...seriously doubt it matters.

But as another poster said, the 3 point percentage difference is pretty staggering. Aaron Harrison has started to attack inside more in the last 6 games and that has improved his overall shooting percentages.

I would add that Devin finishes at the rim much better than Aaron. Devin has no problem scoring in traffic or while being guarded on the break. Aaron doesn't like contact and rarely gets the And-1. Devin is more explosive going toward the goal.

I love Aaron's tenacity, but he really must shoot at a higher % than he has lately to get back on the NBA Draft board's. Going 1-5 or 2-7 from 3 and 4-12 overall in games has dropped his NBA stock dramatically.

One of these players is extremely effective offensively while the other isn't.

It's really pretty simple. In addition to raw scoring ability, Devin Booker is also much more effective at moving without the ball and coming off of screens. This means that not only does it he shoot it much better, he's better at getting open looks. Shot selection is a major weakness for both Harrisons (but especially Aaron).

I think Booker also has a much higher ceiling in terms of rebounding and defense.

In addition to the shooting, Booker has shown a penchant for getting out on the break and finishing well at the rim.

I just wish both would get their outside shots back from earlier in the season. They and Ulis have slumped in shooting threes and I hope it's not from the extreme pressure on them. This is not criticism of them, but they are so young that every day, all day, it is there, on tv, radio, newspapers, etc.

Hmm, thought they were on the same team. I also thought that this year's team was undefeated. Cal's subbing strategy may keep some teams in the game longer than we want (frankly, I am nervous in any game we lead by less than 20) but things seem to be working.

Devin has shown a pull up jumper that is unreal at times.

He pump fakes the set shot to get his defender off balance....takes a few dribbles toward the basket a dm just as soon as the defender thinks he has recovered....BAM. Stop on a dime...pull up jumper...rip your heart out and smack your mother with it.....swish.

Aaron has never shown that ability consistently.
