Glad to see that Nubby is paying Diaco to coach the Sooners.
Always a good thing. Provided he offers any good coaching strategy. Bring in a whole new crew i say. Start over from scratch.
The last thing I want is for Lincoln Riley to consult Switzer and former players for his coach hires. Rilley will likely consult with people he knows who are in the business and people he trusts.
The last time Switzer played a role in a coaching hire at OU was a disaster. I think Diaco's scorecard is more about the talent he had at his disposal rather than his skill as a defensive coach. All I know is that the D ge coaches at ND stuffed us in Norman. Having said that I do think he's simply a ace holder for now. We will have a new DC before spring ball starts.
That would be my thoughts as well, though I won't totally discount McNeil as he did a great job as the Tech DC the last year or two of Mike Leach. He for sure has more talent available at OU.

Diaco's time at Nebraska is not a good barometer of his abilities. The Cornhuskers are making last year's Cinderella Man look like a football invalid this year with Riley's recruits.
Nubby is terrible and I'm loving it. Last year when Diaco came all of their fans were talking about how they were going to have the best defense in the country. Diaco went from being their savior to being the devil in less than a season. Diaco is a weird duck, but he had some good defenses at Notre Dame. Hopefully this move works out for us.
Just look at what he did everywhere else he was before landing that dumpster fire that Nebraska had going and still has going.
He’s put together some very strong defenses in his career. Not to mention winning the Broyles award as a DC.
