Yeah, bigbluelou is famous now.
Not.

Anyway, the question was, "Would a 40-0 UK team be 'good' for college basketball?"

I said there were three groups of people:
UK fans will say yes, because we believe whatever is good for UK is good for college basketball. This is my take, of course.CBB fans of other teams would, in general IMHO, say no because it would not be good for their teams.Casual fans would, in general IMHO, say yes because it is more interesting. (In my mind, sort of like a potential Triple Crown winner draws in non-horse-racing fans.
I also disagreed somewhat with Taylor's opinion that this isn't one of the most talented teams of all time. Although he qualified that by saying it would go down as one of the greatest if not THE greatest achievements ever if they were to go 40-0. I said with all respect to the great UCLA teams and the 76 Indiana team, this UK team from top to bottom is as talented a group of players as has ever been assembled. He felt offensively the '12 team would be better and perhaps others.

At that point, my call was ended. I was unable to hear the remainder of their discussion as I was walking into my office and didn't have access to SiriusXM here.

UK going 39 and 0 would be great for college basketball because everyone would be watching. Doesn't matter to the game whether we win that title game or not .... matters to us but not to the sport as a whole.

I think the other team to get there will matter. If it's Duke, the ratings will be off the chart. If it's a mid-major "David v Goliath", the ratings will be big. If it's Villanova or Utah, it will be above average, but not crazy.

I'm heard it, good job! I started a thread in hopes of people calling in, but never got the number to give.

Darn, I missed you! Working at home today and only have XM in my car. I usually listen to that show in the morning. Have been tempted to call in a few times. Good job!

Thanks! For future reference, their call-in number is 888-573-5335. (This doesn't spell anything from what I've been able to determine.)
