Off the clock? It's not a big deal. But Wiliie checked out, then time was called. Lee checked back out after first free throw by Harrison.

Not certain it happened, but think it did.

Didn't have any outcome on the game.

Rule states time must go off clock after entering game before you can exit. The timeout in between foul shots doesn't qualify for him to sub out.

Just one of those trivial things that I kept waiting on the refs to catch. Don't even know what caused me to notice it. When he checked in I wondered if Vandy would foul him on purpose on next offensive possession. Then I noticed he didn't return out of the timeout.

I noticed it too. Just can't remember whether it was Lee or Dakari!

Was he actually put into the game. He was at the scorer's table and looked like he came onto the court (maybe when the whistle blew for the TO he thot he was whistled into the game) if so the timeout may have precluded him getting in. Was also thinking why put him in when Vandy will immediately foul him. Bottom line he went back to the bench when the TO was taken, so not sure he was officially into the game.

He was definitely in the game. He checked in to the game after the foul was called and was at the FT line for the first shot. That's when I started thinking Vandy would probably foul him. A TO was called and he was back out of the game for the 2nd foul shot.

My guess - Stallings didn't discuss fouling Lee during the TO, or he would have caught it.

Referees have enough on their plate with officiating the game. Someone at the table should be responsible for this kind of stuff.

I've seen high school coaches try to sneak a different shooter to the line after a time out. (The ole basketball version of the deflated f'ball."

Again, I don't think Cal did it intentionally or that it effected outcome of the game. But maybe, Wes sent Cal a text during the timeout reminding him of Lee's ft % ;-) Belicheck might have phoned him with a strategy to secretly get him out.

Was the free throw a one and one? If not, the refs were not supposed to let a player substitue until after the first freethrow. Agree that time must go off the clock for a player to substituted for.
