did the team seem to rally behind barker?

at the game the energy changed when he came in. not just among the fans, but the offense was more crisp, wrs were making better cuts, even the defense on the sideline was into it. fair or not, i now see that barker is the leader that this team needs. would really like to see him start and get all reps this week.

One of the announcers said something to the effect that the WRs were trying much harder to make plays when Barker was put in. Anybody else hear that?

I guess we should be like missouri and let the players dictate the terms? The players want Barker, so let's play Barker.

Genius plan:rolleyes:

It's not a matter of players trying to dictate who plays or sabotaging Towles , it comes down to hope and belief . The wr's have lost hope that Towles can put the ball in a catchable position often enough so they can succeed . I think they believe that Barker can put the ball where it needs to be more often and that inspires them .

If the players are trying for one QB and not the other then Stoops needs to kick some asses. You don't just turn it off and on when you want to.

I think they said could, but again,I didn't see any open receivers after that first drive. He had to scramble allot because protection broke down. So that didn't change. Timmons caught a ball. I guess that's something. That one play on fourth down we wanted pass interference on. I think it was Johnson. Boy,I didn't see him fight that hard. He got bumped and jumped five yards out of bounds and just stopped. He wasn't hit that hard and he was ten yards away from where that ball ended up.

I'm not arguing against Baker starting. I'm for it. But I don't expect to see a change in effort because of it.

Absolutely!! Starting with his own!! If the players can see it, why can't Stoops! I'm afraid what we have in Stoops is another Will Muschamp... Great defensively, but lacking offensively! I truly believe Neal Brown bugged out knowing Stoops was not going to let him run the offense as he saw fit... Look for Dawson to leave after next year... I know some of u on here don't like the play calling, but what on earth can the man draw up when the offensive line can't block, wide receivers can't catch, and qb's can't throw, EXCEPT A RUNNING PLAY!!

I hope Gunnar Hoak enrolls early!!

OK, well I don't know what all of that has to do with my post!!! I just don't think expecting high energy and maximum effort on every play is asking too much from a bunch of guys who are getting a free education to play a kid's game.

You may be onto something. Kind of interesting that Neal Brown at Troy put up more points on Miss St than we did this year.

It's funny that when saying Towles can't hit open receivers those posters never mention the Timmons or Johnson balls that were perfectly thrown and dropped. We take a TD lead and momentum. Silence

Yes quite obvious Baker has quit on Towles on some plays. Only costing himself with his terrible attitude if he wants to play in the leaque

Maybe...but only for the one drive. I think Barker did more harm than good in that game. At the very least, it was even.

That throw from Towles to Timmons on the first drive was a thing of beauty. He just dropped it. That throw from Barker to Timmons for the TD was a thing of beauty. He just caught it. Based on the limited reps I've seen, Barker does seem to be able to put the ball where the receivers don't have to make so many adjustments. I've always rooted for Towles and will continue to do so, but I think they need to let Barker start and play the majority of the Charlotte game.

Did you see the frustration from the wide outs when lining up for that final play against Vandy? They were asking Towles what routes to run and Towles kept giving them the "line up" hand motion and one of the wide outs threw his hands up at Patrick and then waved him off as to say "whatever man". Towles has lost this team. I think we will see a big difference come Saturday if Barker is under center.

I really hate the 4th and 6inches to goal QB sneak.
I rather run the ball in an I formation than have Towles try to flop over.
