Got this from Spin Meister:
Since I don't follow "X" or any other social media, maybe @Tom McAndrew can shed some light on this twitter account.
Heck, maybe one of my distant cousins had a hand in this development.

Did the U.S. Constitution Begin in Ukraine? It sounds wild. But follow this fascinating thread: from a Ukrainian hetman-in-exile in Sweden ... to Voltaire ... to Montesquieu... to Philadelphia 1787.

Orlyk’s Constitution laid out the structure of a republic with separation of powers — 38 years before Montesquieu became known as the "separation of powers" guy, and 77 years before the Montesquieu-influenced U.S. Constitution.

Who can say? But we know this: Today, the Russian barbarians bomb the place where the spirit of democracy has been cherished for centuries. In the wild steppes and mountains of Ukraine, Pylyp Orlyk knew democracy must be defined in order to be kept.

No. Not a single Founding Father was influenced by Ukraine. There is no proof of that ever taking place. Our influences were the Magna Carta, John Locke, the Romans, the Greeks, the Enlightenment, and several other scholars. Specifically why we are a Republic and not a Democracy.

Look at Benjamin Franklin. From Locke to Bacon

"Did the U.S. Constitution Begin in Ukraine?" - No.

"Today, the Russian barbarians bomb the place where the spirit of democracy has been cherished for centuries."
- If they've been worshiping democracy for centuries, that may explain why the region is so effed up.

We live in a Representative Republic. A Democracy is 2 wolves and a lamb deciding on what to have for lunch.

The Constitution is such an antiquated notion. We need a government to tell us what to think and do. We can’t be trusted with freedom. And we don’t deserve it.

😞
True "freedom" means anarchy. So, no, we can't be trusted with "freedom". There needs to be guardrails. And our Constitution is just that.

Don't know how many retired educators frequent here. But as I reflect back on about 38 years in the classroom, one thing haunts me. For every student of above average intelligence there was another possessing below average intelligence. Are they (below) voting?
🤔

While a great document. One that allows you to own people and doesn’t acknowledge women exist. Is far from perfect. Can/should be tweaked as we become more enlightened people.

Do you have some evidence that we are becoming more enlightened lately?
