Honestly, if the same exact play happened the other way we would want them to take off the points. It was a block and not a goaltend and Tennessee gained immediate possession.
What if Oweh had rebounded his own miss and been stopped by the whistle just before dunking the ball?
I’ll say this… the frequency with which the refs have to reverse their initial calls on goaltending ought to be a clue to the refs that they are not good at their jobs.

I thought the whole reason we can't allow a different official to conduct the reviews was that we didn't want people to think calls were being reversed in a smoky back room somewhere?

The current rules say the review takes place at the next media timeout. In this case that just happened to be halftime.
I have been saying for years now this BS rule needs to be changed fine they take the basket away but it needs to happen at the time it is called so either Kentucky gets the ball back or they go to a jump all.
