Did we recruit Bo Nickal?

He was certainly a known commodity during recruiting. If I am not mistaken CM flipped to us when they kept recruiting guys around his weight class. Nickal was a top 10 recruit.

He was also coached by an OSU alum in Jerry Best.

Considering he was in your area at Allen Tx, I'm sure John gave him a good look.

We recruited Bo very hard, all the way to the very end and after he committed to PSU. OSU coaches were never informed that he verbal to PSU by the Nickal family. We looked at him as a 184/197 pounder.

Not sure Best was at OSU, thought he was only at CSU/UCO.

Did that hurt or help OSU's chances in getting Bo, since his coach was a guy who felt the need to leave OSU?

Bo openly recruited Penn State. It's been a subject of open discussion back on the Penn State site. Bo reached out to Cael and coaches.

let me get this right amalone, PSU needed a 174 after Brown. Bo was a top 10 recruit in all weights and Cael didn't reach out to Bo and didn't have him as a recruit that they really needed and wanted? Bo wanted to wrestle for PSU, "yes" but Cael recruited and went after Bo!

Mikey... Not to burst your inflated sense of self worth and knowing more than than the next lay person... But there has been solid discussion on our board that Nickal and his family(his father) reaching out to Cael first. Cael's the best recruiter in college wrestling. I don't think it took to much for either party to get connected or to get Nickal's commitment.

And were you in the Nickal household when those discussions occurred or didn't occur. Mikey... you have to calm down buddy. He's already at Penn State doing what many RS freshman do at Penn State... win big.

"Your board" is nothing more then a bunch of self righteous pricks.

It is proof positive that you blindly believe a guy the caliber of Nickal would have to seek out PSU staff to get a shot there. I fully believe that you guys would argue that Nickal never got sent a piece of mail, much less some serious interest from PSU.

Good thing you guys have a good coach, your fan base is repulsive.

NO one said he had to seek out Penn State.... his father from reports did. Your other comments shows who the repulsive person is.

Amalone, just because he ended up at PSU doesn't mean a few of your unknowing posters (including you) know how it all played out, after all we're you in the Nickal's house hold when this played out or Cael's office when Mr Nickal made his famous on his knee call to Cael? Where he ended up has nothing to do about how it played out! After all we all know how Cael recruits with his picture of the recruit photo shopped with a PSU singlet on and Cael on his knees taking care of business! In fact, he probably had a picture of you on your knees taking care of business (that makes a whole lot more sense how it played out). What you are saying is all bull sh#t. Go back to your hole with your day dreamers and have a good circle jerk, that will last all of a good 10 seconds and have a good sleep. Before you go to bed, please wash your face because mommy doesn't want that stuff on her sheets.
That was a very educated response Mikey. None of it made any sense... but what's new.

Why are we arguing about this. It is water under the bridge. We recruited Nickal and we did not get him for whatever reason just as others recruited Heil, Ringer and the Rogers Brothers and did not get them. We recruited Marsteller as did Penn State and we got him. So far it has not worked out but it may in the future. Bo is a great wrestler for the Nittany Lions. He has worked out in spades so far. The spat between Togneto and Amalone is starting to sound like the Republican candidates.

That is totally disrespectful of Tognetti and Amamlone. This thread is more like junior high bickering where the republican debate is grade school insults.

Your guy... Mikey... flipped out because I brought up a discussion on our site that Bo Nickal's father, Jason, had contacted Cael in regards to recruiting his son. Mike... with no information to the contrary goes off on a profanity laced rant. His twisted rant is about who contacted who... 1st in Bo Nickal's recruitment. And Bo's been wrestling for Penn State for a full year and this discussion or any argument about his recruitment is an inane one.

You can see the correlation in Mikey being so profane and why he's so mad??? o_Oo_Oo_O It's a WTFrench moment for me also.

That's the best you could do... to contribute to the thread. You're a pathetic OSUMatFan.

I appreciate the majority of your posters rejecting rumors such as this one and previously the one were John went off about McCutcheon during the OSU vs PSU post match presser. If a rumor is out there if it is stated as such that is one thing. But to put rumors out as any more than that is not worth responding to.

Is this the stuff that gets one labeled as a "troll"??

I will add that I believe there is something to coaches spending less time and resources on recruits they feel would be a long shot given the distance they are from their program. I imagine those recruits may get contacted to determine mutual interest and may await feedback before making a push to get a commitment. I have no first hand info so all I can do is speculate just as many others might do.

Obviously... you missed the discussion back on Penn State's board where this very subject was discussed. Discussing scenarios that were discussed between reliable sources and then shared is not trolling. It's called discussing plausible and very possible truths. You don't have to be an asshat... to prove such points. And to think you're a Penn State... ignorant *** Hat.

Obviously.... no one here knows of what Mr. Nickal did or didn't do. That's why it was being discussed. Not in a purposeful or productive way so give yourself an *** slap for that... Mr. *** Hat.

Stuff like this will get you labeled an *** KISSER. Enjoy which ever fits best for you.

Amalone,
You are representing the PSU fan base and doing a very poor job of it. I can only imagine the numbers of posters on the BWI site who are cringing. Stop for the sake of everyone involved, it is embarrassing to watch.

Who's site is this da?
Visitors to this board from anywhere are normally treated with respect but the ones that just come to stir up trouble rather than healthy debate are not welcome. Those are rare but amalone fits in that category. Arguing ancient history and pointless diatribes back and forth are not the way to go. Can we end this thread?

I think Tognetti has some culpability in this one too as I never reply to trolls and if everyone would follow that example the troll would disappear. I will not read nor reply to another post on this thread and hope our posters all do the same.

Tognetti is a good friend of mine but he sometimes gets hyper-enthusiastic and I think he would admit that his last post was over the top and not in the best of taste. I think this stems from the banter or worse with amalone on the Penn State board. I do not visit other boards but I have my spies. In this instance I agree with pokefan4life. Mike does bear part of the responsibility. Sorry, Mike but I know you will still be my friend although you might call me old burrito more now and no I am not trying to put words in your mouth.

I was not going to post just because I don't want to keep this thread going but I have to apologize for that post I made. It was over the top, no matter how much I wanted him to shut up, all I did was allow him the reason to keep posting. I'm sorry to all that read it and also having to put up with him. I will erase it and will not comment on this thread again.

Representation is a two way street. And the subject matter wasn't of any substantial importance as the discussed wrestler is very happy at Penn State, no matter the actual course that got him there.

Nothing after the comments on Bo Nickal's father trying to help his son... warranted any discussion, because the personal commenting, sloppy negative innuendos, lack of any information whatsoever to substantiate or validate what was written about Jason Nickal helping his son... led to this slop. Not knowing... is as worse as opening your mouth and making random erroneous comments that distort reality.

On BWI... this very subject was discussed in a rational, normal way with support to the very premise that was denied randomly, by people who knew negative ZERO about the subject. Makes sense to comment about something you don't have a remote idea of what really occurred. o_O
