but beating a team at home doesn't prove you're better than them by any means, especially when they finish with a better record in the same league.

It was me, and it was because I felt like they were playing better basketball at the time, and they were. You have closed stronger though, and they have limped to the finish somewhat, and you're playing better ball now.

After we won, I got the "Well it did not hurt you that SC had a down game" line from the UM folks over at the bar. Always my favorite line.

That's a pretty common line, and it's usually true. However, more often than not when you win, the other team is having a down game because you make them have a down game.

We had a down second half against UK yesterday, but it was because UK turned it up a notch defensively and wouldn't let us get the looks we got in the first half. It wasn't that we were just cold. I didn't see much of your game today, but I'm guessing that if SC went cold, it was probably because you had them locked down.
