I subscribe to DirecTV and NU's game Saturday will start at the peak of a blizzard in the DC area. How do you stream ESPN channels ?

download espnwatch from the appstore. I know you have to provide your cable account to stream the feed, probably the same with DirectTV.

I watched last night's Ohio State game on my iPad. There's a DirectTV app you can load to watch live streaming.

If you are like me, you'll need to find an 18 year old to load the app etc. My 18 year old can even make the show on the iPad jump through time and space onto my large screen TV. First time it happened I almost wet my pants.

Apple is probably a satanic cult, giving us what we really want in exchange for eternal damnation. But to watch a game in real time I think is worth it.

You have to know your login for Directv to make it work.

You can stream either on a mobile device or on a computer. I have done it to a laptop a few times via wifi. On the laptop you don't have to install anything, just go to the ESPN website. If wifi isn't available where you are you can turn your tablet or smart phone into a mobile hotspot. I have done that.

For a tablet or smartphone install the app as pointed out in other posts. Personally I resist installing thing to my mobile devices if I can avoid it.

One more thing you might try on your DirectTV dish if you have time and accessibility: Spray Rain-X on your dish.

It was suggested to me by a DirectTV employee who lives in Idaho. It may not help during the storm if things are very heavy, but it helps reduce the accumulation. It has worked great for me for the past 3 or 4 winters.

A well-aimed snowball against the back of the dish works wonders too. Ironically a snowball always seems available when there's a lot of snow built up on the dish.

My dishes( I have 2) are on steeply pitched 4 story high locations. DirecTV will no longer service these dishes-I had to pay a service technician $200 under the table to correct an alignment issue. He said he would never do it again after he was finished

I signed on to ESPN and DirecTV websites to watch on my laptops but the pictures froze every 10-15 seconds although the sound continued. I don't have high tech computer needs so I only have INTEL i3 processors, I assume this is the problem

It's more likely your internet service. We have low priced laptops and an android tablet. They have all worked fine. Do you have good cell service? I have had good luck using my devices as hotspots. You do have to be signed up for that in your service plan.
