DJ's breakaway

From my angle in the La-Z-Boy, it looked like Dakari may have gotten away with an extra baby step on his breakaway basket in the first half. They didn't show a replay at the time, but it was among the abbreviated highlights going into halftime, and I saw it again on highlights after the game.

Each time, it looked like DJ took a little hop before his two step delivery to the bucket. Did anyone else notice, or was it the mushrooms kicking in that made me imagine it?

Lumbering bigs get the benefit of the doubt for effort. Seriously though, incredible effort by DJ. I'm sure the ref was too surprised to bother calling anything. Kind of the opposite of when Polson got a rebound, they'd immediately call a foul because they just didn't expect him to be capable of that.

you do realize you are completely missing the point . Of coarse we got more calls as we drove and posted up and you all shot 3's . But every single time a a guy ,especially Dakari , got it down low he was slapped , hacked and mugged , raped whatever . It is what UL does to us and i guess King of the Hill decided it was a good way to try to beat us , which it is .

Sucks that we don't get a home and home this year. UK could use the test too as I know Cal likes to have the Cats as tested as possible before the NCAA Tournament.

Several Vandy travels were not called either so I don't see it as a makeup. More like a lazy or incompetent whistle.

Freidas, just because we shot more free throws doesn't mean that uncalled fouls weren't fouls. You would have had to play the water boy, managers and grad assistants if every foul was called.

We won, yeah! We just have to play through more stuff than teams who play us and it's because we have superior talent we don't have to foul. We get a little frustrated for our players when they are constantly pushed, grabbed and hacked and few whistles result.

I wouldn't care if we shot 50 free throws a few times if it would clean up the paint.

No doubt, he should have called the foul. I thought it was garbage and gave UK two points. The foul was to prevent the dunk.

Here is a Video of Dakari's steal and breakaway dunk. I thought that Dakari was going to get hit with a technical foul for knocking the ball out of a Vandy player's hands after the dunk, but I think the ref realized that it was an accident.

He wasn't called for steps because he was pushed in the back. The ref either had to call travel, foul, or just let the play stand - he made the right call.

Of course Vandy might win next year...they have all their guys back and we will have a fairly young team unless some guys come back we are not expecting. Big deal.

UK will go much further in the NCAA Tourney and finish much higher in the SEC.

From my angle at the game, Dakari took a push from behind (two handed middle of the back) before the dunk. The Vandy commie got away with a foul, Dakari got an extra step and a flush. Looked fair enough to me.
