Always play the best player at each position??? Or are they into being Loyal to some of the players. Have there been promises of playing time when they were recruited?? Case in point Benny Snell Jr. As others have mentioned in pre season practices and what we saw last night. He may be our BEST running back. Boom is good but has trouble hitting the hole hard. Wants to juke too much. Yet Snell was down on the depth chart. Landon Young is another example. He is our best Left offensive tackle PERIOD not even close. And our Quarterback?? So it led me to wonder why these kids didn't play from the start. Don't say because they are FRESHMEN. I have seen plenty of Freshmen starting for teams today on TV. Could this be why we seem to have locker room discord at times? The players know who the better players are?? Anybody have a thought??

Maybe they need time to learn the system and plays and also work their way into the lineup. Locker room discord comes from moving freshmen too soon ahead of guys who have paid their dues

The reason is that they are freshmen. Plain and simple. Yes, some freshmen play more but they also advance at different times. Young was playing before Mosier was injured and it was just a matter of time before he took over. Snell looked amazing yesterday and is probably a great combination of Kemp and Boom. However, he may need to learn the playbook a bit better and may have trouble blocking when called to do so. Not to mention that Kemp and Boom have paid their dues and are awesome. Ideally, I wish we could have redshirted Snell so he'd be a freshman next year and be splitting some carries with Boom.

As far as quarterback... Barker has the talent. Look how well he did in the first half of southern miss. He tore it up. Where he's struggling seems to be mentally. He hasaid to forget mistakes and rise above them. So, he may still be the better talent, but this intangible is holding him back. We will see how well Johnson does going forward and if he has the talent against some real SEC teams.

Come on, it doesn't take a genius to understand that even the most talented needs time to understand the plays and schemes. Young caused our QB to fumble because of nerves so it takes a while. Plus are you really going to knock Boom's game yesterday? If you are, you know Jack about football.

I am not going to knock Booms game. Let me ask you a question. 3rd and goal from the 3. Who would you rather have getting the ball. Boom or Snell??? I say Snell. He hits the hole and doesnt juke. In fact Snell is one of those runners who never seems to lose a yard. I know one game doesn't always predict but others have said he has been doing this since he got here. A good 2 headed horse to have.
