Nope. Current team is still playing, thankfully. Pope should be fully focused on that until the season is over. After that, go get your next group.
I think there are more than likely new additions already, but won’t be released until the conclusion of this season on April 6th
Yes. I am sure Pope does not want distractions for this current team. As long as UK is winning, I do not see any names being leaked as committing.

It would be cool if the Braden Smith rumor was true. Talk about a winner!
Even if there is nothing to that rumor, I hope Pope waits to see who comes out after the tourney. I want some guys that made deep runs. Most of the guys in the Portal now have never even played a single NCAA tournament game.
Many believe that rumor may be unsubstantiated based on the fact that UK is showing interest in other portal guys at the same position. Sadly, if something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.
Kenny Brooks lost Clara Silva to the transfer portal. Huge loss. Former top 10 recruit who came from Virginia Tech.
I'm thinking it is a sure bet that his assistant's are lining up the names to prioritize

No one is going to substantiate it. Pope and the coaching staff play everything very close to the vest. KSR is smarter than to say "Yup, they've already tampered and stolen Smith right out from under Purdue's nose."

I’ll admit I’ve only watched Smith play a couple times and he was great on offense. I have no idea about defense other than more than a few on here say he can’t guard at all and that’s in the big 10. The sec has some great point guards so would he be a revolving door every trip down the floor and just be attacked mercilessly? For that matter though I know about the same about Thomas, no clue how he is defensively but if Butler was Pope’s prototype for PG it would seem like Thomas is more in that mold than Smith yeah?
Physically, maybe Thomas is maybe more like Butler than Smith, but if you think about tournament success, Smith is much closer to Butler. Smith, like Butler, is a winner. He has made deep runs in the tournament. He has played in the Final Four. He has played for a title. Those are important things to think about. Physically, Smith is a different type of player, but mentally, they seem very comparable. As for stats, the main one I look at is tournament success. There probably won’t be many, if any, in the Portal that will have Butler’s resume when it comes to tournament success.
Well we got some news, that feller from Wyoming is "100%" to Baylor (edit I originally put BYU because I'm stupid) per the 24/7 projections.

Kansas and BYU should have some battles next year both have the top freshmen. Agbim to BYU and I know Kansas is trying to get Dent.
Braden Smith experience has to factor in you are right he’s been there every year playing big games. I still don’t know if he enters portal I can’t think of why he would at this point. I’m just so happy to not be under the gun this year and having to take what we can get, everything is a possibility!

I get the excitement around who has entered so far but the portal hasn’t even begin to blow up yet.
The next couple weeks are going to be bonkers.
And have to imagine Pope and staff have 3-4 that they really really want, but can’t be talked about until they enter.

I could be in the minority, but I am still so focused on this season I don’t care about the portal quite yet.
Pope seemed confident the staff would land some great portal players. I trust them for now. And hopefully once our season is over (might as well win 4 more), the booms will flow.

Popes offense doesn’t need a big time scoring pg so if anyone in the e portal fits the mold of Butler I’d go after him.
I'm gonna say that is fine. I watched a bit of our team. She was tall, but very slow and non-athletic. She could hit a shot if she was wide open and had time. But she wasn't good at footwork around the bucket or defense, actually. And strak is coming back right?
Silva has a ton of potential just think she didn’t want to play another year only playing 5-8 mpg because Strack is so good and that’s understandable
