Since we only sing the first verse anyway, do we need a new one? I say "yes" because the country is not even mentioned until the very last two lines, and even then there is no mention of America, United States, etc. in that verse.

Give me America the Beautiful.

I think sports and entertainment should play the Black National Anthem since they dominate all aspects of sports, music, movies and other entertainment. How many people even know who Francis Scott Key is? So his words should not be played at those events.

The rest of American including all military should keep the one that has served us well for many years.

My Country 'Tis Of Thee is ideal because it's like 25 seconds long, but I could see where we wouldn't want a remix of a British song that is their anthem too.

Personally, I’ve always liked America the Beautiful. I’d say if the current national anthem was changed that would be a strong second.(That or anything by Marshall Tucker Band)

Not a fan of national anthems, pledges of allegiance, or an public displays of patriotism. Always feels a little too nazi Germany/Soviet Union/North Korea-ish to me. Scrap them all.

Pledge allegiance to individual liberty and demand limited government. Is there an anthem for that?

Because he was in town, they had all the streets blocked. My wife to be has a house in town with roof damage. We got part of the roof tarped and had to quit to get supplies. We lost over 2 hours of daylight because we couldn't get to her house, and didn't get the roof fully tarped. The thunder, lightning, and rains came. Part of her roof caved in because we didn't keep the storm out. Why should we thank him?

Sorry you feel that way. I fully understand that bitem came to town like most politicians would. The political optics dictate that, but it still made it difficult on us.

I think we should take Russia's National Anthem. Just take it and pretend like we invented it. Not say anything in advance. Just all of a sudden we own their sh*t like a boss and play it like "what are you talking about, we've always used this?"
